The Bottom Line The Samsung Rugby II improves on its predecessor and delivers a functional, rugged phone with satisfying performance. Very poor call quality is especially unacceptable on a simple cell phone. Unless you require AT&T's push-to-talk service, keep looking. If you've been dreaming of a wonderfully powerful Android 4.0 smartphone boasting everything but the kitchen sink and don't live in the U.S., the globally available HTC One X could have your name on it. The iPhone 4S isn't the king of cell phones, but it's part of the royal family nonetheless. Even without 4G and a giant screen, this phone's smart(ass) voice assistant, Siri, the benefits of iOS 5, and its spectacular camera make it a top choice for anyone ready to upgrade. Windows Phone fans on Verizon should buy the $100 Nokia Lumia 928 for its strong feature set, but watch out for slower-than-usual data speeds.
