The Bottom Line The Cobra iRadar is essentially a basic, albeit good, radar/laser detector. However, when paired with an iPhone running the iRadar app, it becomes a much more flexible and useful speed management tool. The Cobra iRadar justifies its entry-level price as a good radar/laser detector. And when paired with a smartphone running the iRadar app, it becomes a much more flexible and useful speed management tool. The Passport Max isn't exactly a bargain, but with improved detection performance and fewer annoying false alerts, it certainly justifies its price tag. It's pricey, but the stealthy Escort SmartRadar detector and the Escort Live app proved to be more accurate than the competition and triggered fewer false alarms.
