More and more GPS manufacturers are integrating multimedia features into their portable navigation systems, but we have yet to see one that does it really well. We've often felt these additions were more of an afterthought, a way for companies to say, "Hey, our product also does this!" However, this isn't true for all GPS devices. The TomTom GO 910 is the first nav system we've seen to offer iPod compatibility. It also lets you listen to your favorite MP3s or Audible audiobooks, and it displays photos (JPEG and BMP formats). We also recommend the Garmin Nuvi 350 or the Nuvi 660. These two devices not only offer similar multimedia features, they also have ultraportable form factors (about the size of handheld) and travel tools, such as a foreign-language dictionary and currency converter, if you like to take trips overseas. It's been our experience that both companies' products are easy to use, so you won't have many difficulties operating them.
