Updated November 30, 2005 CRTs are slowly but inevitably being replaced by sleek, thin LCD monitors. Both technologies have advantages and disadvantages, but most manufacturers have given up producing better CRTs, instead focusing on improving the performance of crowd-favorite LCDs. Though most of us have been won over by LCDs' slim form factor; flat, bright screen; flexibility; and small footprint, some gamers and digital artists still prefer CRTs.
