e-signature 
An e-signature, as approved in the Electronic Signatures law, is any signature that can be delivered by electronic means, such as over the Internet. An e-signature does not have to be encrypted, nor does it have to be delivered using a particular type of technology. A digital signature is one type of e-signature.
