WII over PS3 anyday!
by djrunaway December 15, 2006 4:58 AM PST
WII over PS3 ANYDAY: Graphics are normal(gamecube/PS2 graphics). Nothing outstanding. Who needs better graphics anyway? WII is much more inexpensive and innovative. The new way of playing games is the next step: make the player more involved. (PS3 postponed their release date to incorporate some of Nintendo's controller ideas.) Nintendo has come out with the newest and most innovative way of playing. Games are even more competitive than ever. I have not met a person that does not LOVE it. My roommate does not have interest in video games. He loves the the WII. Girls, in general, do not play video games. Girls love the WII. I have never been more satisfied with a video game console. Soon you will be able to browse the internet, and in addition, purchase almost any Nintendo or Dreamcast game that has been released before with your online WII.

Yes, a Wii may be on my list for things to pick up after the holiday. A game
system that makes you part of the game again!

$600 for PS3? Outrageous! On top of that, I'll never buy anything Sony again
after their rootkit fiasco...Sorry Sony, but you deserve it.

Neither, get a 360.

IMO, its the best of the next-gen systems. Cheaper than the PS3 but with just as much power, best games of any of the new systems, the option to add HD-DVD if you'd like, plus Xbox Live (yes, even with the nominal fee) just completely spanks either of the other consoles online interfaces.

I currently have XBOX360 and I am very happy with it, getting a PS3 would be like having a XBOX360. I am looking for a different way of playing game to be more involved in it, so I am going to get a Wii. It will be more fun than just sitting down and pressing buttons on the controller, it will a lot more interactive. Plus, my 5 & 6 year old will enjoy it more than the XBOX360 too.

PS3 V/s who? no competition...
by boone51 December 15, 2006 10:29 AM PST
If I hadn?t been able to get a PS3 at launch I would probably be crying sour grapes right now too. I did get one, though, and I love it. I?ve read post after post of wii-kids and 360fanboys who trash the PS3 with little or no playing time in on it yet, and I haven?t heard much response from the PS3 community (hence my strong sense of obligation to put down my Sixaxis for a few minutes to reply to this post). I?ve played all three systems and I can tell you that of the two actually in competition with each other (360 and PS3 ? Nintendo readily agrees that they are not in the same market as PS3 ? there?s a reason Nintendo doesn?t want you to compare the two systems), the PS3 wins hands down. When I?m playing NBA 2k7 in 1080i I wonder how in the world any 360-fanboy could deny that their product was inferior. When I was hooking up my HDMI cable to my HDTV I actually felt a tinge of remorse for the 360 fanboys out there who will never know this joy. The games available on the PS3 at launch were limited, but we all know how this will turn out in the end. The other piece of good news is that you can immediately play your whole backlog of old games on the PS3. The 360 neglected to include any backwards compatibility into their system (surprise surprise?more money for Microsoft). The PS3 also obviously has the 360 beat when it comes to HD. There are no HDMI ports on the 360. There is no way to watch HD movies on a 360 stright out of the box. Marry the price of the 360 with the price of the HD add on and you?ve got a PS3 price tag. Why not just go ahead and get the real thing? Also, the Wii is very innovative. The motion sensor controllers are awesome and incredibly fun. However, they come off as a bit gimmicky and I personally started looking for my couch after about 20 minutes (this is no reflection of my personal health?seriously). I?m not saying anything bad about the Wii, though. It?s a great system, but it?s limitations are apparent. I understand that supplies are limited, but this doesn?t mean you should talk trash about it since you can?t have one right this second.

To make a very long story short? If you can get one, go for a PS3. Your inner gamer will thank you.
