Summary: This is a great player for beginners. It has many featues, including video, voice recording, and radio. It also has a nice sized screen. Not the biggest, so it probably isn't great to watch movies on there, but it does fine with music videos and looks pretty good.

The display screen while playing music, however, isn't that stunning, and you can't listen to your music and be at the main menu at the same.

It has a handy 'lock' feature to present accidental button presses while your mp3 player is in your purse or your pocket.

All in all, a nice player. =]

So far this is a great mp3/video player, specially for the price. I havent had any problems with the video/audio playback however someone who isnt to adapatable with glitchy software may be under the impression that it doesnt work, when in reality whoever programmed the shoddy software obvouisly didnt have anyone Q.A it properly. Ex: when you move an .mtv (video file) onto the device and go to the browsers "movies" folder it will list it as empty, but if you push back or select the menue you then choose the mptmedia folder and your movies are listed here, same as the mp3 section. The background color is nasty by default and unfortunatly even though you can upload your own jpegs to the device you cant load your own background.

If you just want simple plug and play music/video without worrying about it being so expensive you almost feel like you need to insure it then this is for you, probably best for your high school kids that you know will pawn it off for pot when they get bored of it.

Summary: I've been looking at MP3 players and was debating buying one but the high prices really turned me off. I eventually found a Colby 2Gb MP-C7095 reduced drastically at Canadian Tire for $39.99, a $60 savings on the regular retail price and I couldn't resist any longer so I bought one.

It looks very similar to the Samsung units and the keypad controls are almost the same. The aluminium rear case and black front with red back lighting look great. I spent the evening loading songs and a few pictures.

The songs were relatively easy to load with WMP11, but I wasn't able to get any pictures onto this player. I finally resorted to switching the USB control to treat it as an external hard drive and with Windows Explorer I finally managed to upload a few pictures. There must be a better way.

I took the player to the office and thought I'd listen to a few tunes during my lunch break. Wrong.....the unit worked for a while but the suddenly went dead. It would not turn on, would not connect to my computer and was dead. I was really bummed.

It's a nice looking player with a solid feel but it's all but useless even at the $40 level if it doesn't work. Looks like I'll be waiting a bit longer for something economical that actually works.

Buyer beware.....you get what you pay for.

Summary: in my opinion... it's not that bad. the sad thing is that all ipod users will laugh their lungs out when they see it. but then the other functions give it a slight boost. it's able to record stuff, FM and VOICE and can also serve as a storage device to store files and other things.
Coby should do more to improve its menu display cos it's hideous.
