These Grados serve up incredible sound fidelity for their price; they might be the best sub-$100 headphone.
They do not isolate you from the outside world, however, and they do not isolate the outside world from your music at all. This makes them unsuitable for loud locations such as the bus or airplane, where you'll deafen yourself (and annoy the other passengers) if you turn the volume up far enough to listen to your music. They're also unsuitable for quiet locations such as the library, as the music you're listening to will be quite audible to those around you, even at moderate volumes.
For home use, though, and for the odd locations where it's not too loud outside and there aren't other people in close proximity, these headphones sound amazing. I'm glad that I own them.
Be prepared to adjust them yourself to make them comfortable (instructions included with the headphones, I believe). The headpiece gets much more comfortable once it has been squeezed to your head shape. Even after adjusting them, these aren't the world's most comfortable headphones.
Happy listening.

I'm no audio-phile but the sound is very good. From what I can tell the headphones are made with top quality components and craftsmanship. On the other hand the design is from the 1950's and it doesn't seem like it would take much effort for Grado to get in the 21st century in this regard

Great product for listening to music at home or work. Doesn't keep outside noise out, though. And everyone can hear what you hear, so it's not the best time to bring out your Spice World movie sound track. I don't know why everyone thinks they look goofy, because they look freakin' pro. They have that raw functional apeal. And they totally deliver.

If your looking to listen to your music with good quality sound Grato sr60 is a great choice. If you want to listen to your music in a room and not disturb other, this is not the headphone for you. With no cover on the outside of the headphone, everyone within 20 to thirty feet of you have to listen to your music with you.

These are good headphones, great if you never want to listen to music louder than your mother would like. However, I found that with an iPod you can cause a clicking to develop, along with a buzz. I never max out my iPod's volume, but at around 60%-80%, after about a week, I could hear a buzz on the left. A couple weeks later, after turning it down, I started to hear a clicking on the right. While many say these are good headphones for volume, my experience has told me otherwise. Still good, though, for quieter areas where you can listen to music at lover volumes.

These headphones highly regarded as the best under $100. Really sounds good with Rock. These will be a incredible upgrade if your coming from stock headphones. Terminated with eighth inch jack for easy listening with most home devices. Only one downside I can even think of and thats some users just like all headphones might find these un comfortable. The retro look is also a love/hate thing.

I love the sound on these phones. The only problem is that the volume isn't high enough to overcome most public transportation sounds during a commute. I know about the igrado portable phones but they aren't the same in sound quality and accuracy and have an exaggerated bass response.
The thick wire is attractive insofar as it probably has something to do with the stellar performance of the drivers but it's too rigid and bulky and long for portable use.
All in all, I really love these phones and wish they could be converted to deliver slightly more volume and and more flexibility of the wiring and the headband. Imagine if these were foldable and you could stuff them into your pocket?

I bought a set of SR60s approximately 1 1/2 years ago for use with my guitar/amp and at work.
Unfortunately when playing (electric) guitar at home the headphones couldn't hold up and started to crackle at seemingly very low thresholds. With no real use for them at home they have lived in the office since then.
In the office I felt these headphones were worth their weight in gold. They had great sound and was also open enough that I could hear people if they called for me.
My only real complaint is that after ~1 year one of the cups had wiggled its way off the metal post. For the next few months I would simply wiggle it back on (sometimes with a spot of glue - a feel good measure at best) but ultimately the plastic on the cup was stripped/widened to the point of no return.
Overall they held up ok for the amount of use they saw but I really would have thought they'd be more soundly built especially from Grado.
