  WARNING: PRODUCT DISABLES LOGON FUNCTIONALITY!

  Summary: Bought it today, installed software from disc as directed. Appeared to work fine. Until I restarted the comptuer. As we have multiple users on this computer, we had set up different account users,so that each kid can have their own desktop, favorites, etc. After installing, only main account user appeared. Searching Linksys database discloses that quick user switching and regular windows logon are disabled by the software because of "GTGina.dll" is embedded in the registry. What is truly annoying and unacceptable is that Linksys gives no hint on how to fix this problem. Only says the adapter could be installed without using their software! Now they tell me! It also warns that if "GTGina.dll" file is deleted from the registry, you may not be able to boot up your computer! From message boards I gather that just uninstalling the Linksys program does NOT remove the problem. This is plain nasty and Linksys should be held accountable -- and reviewe sites liked CNET ought to raise the alarm.

  A file named GTGina.dll has decided that the Welcome screen and Fast User switching aren't going to work anymore. That means that I know longer am automatically logged onto my computer (which is important to me since I'm the only one who uses it), CRTL+ALT+DEL now brings up a menu that asks if I want to restart, reboot, pull up the task manager (which is all I ever want when I press that combinaiton), or whatever else it says.
  
  There's no reason why a wireless internet adaptor should have this kind of effect on the rest of my computer.

  Summary: I read the reviews after i purchased the thing so i naturally got worried. I bought this thing for work which includes intrustion / detection / penetration (hence the back track). If you do this sort of work you know that there is little support for USB devices for this purpose.
  
  In any case I had to upgrade to the enhanced drivers to get the WPA functionality in Linux. Out of the box though it worked for WEP and installed from the live CD for me.
  
  With windows I just installed the driver provided by Windows XP SP2 (2-3 minutes). I didn't install the software from the CD and I don't have any problems with the windows logon that have been reported in earlier posts here. Which is good because i need it to log on to the work domain.
  
  I am tired of using the different wireless managers that come with the different devices. I just like using the windows zero configuration service for all my wireless stuff. When i have to do more advanced stuff, i have to use different software / drivers anyway.
  
  Other thoughts:
  1) The unit seems to stay cooler than a few of my other USB b/g devices.
  2) It is a little bigger than my other USB b/g devices.
  3) Only cost $39.00 at Micro Center
  4) Range seems to be on par with my internal, PCMCIA, and other USB devices.
  
  Overall good with Windows, but we will see if it holds up to what i really plan to do with it. For the average user though i don't see why this would not be a good wireless solution.

  Summary: I used to own the older wireless USB adapter (WUSB54G) and it worked great. After a few years of use, it stopped working so I replaced it with this. It is horrible. DO NOT PURCHASE IT. You are much better off getting the older style version. My router is less than 20 feet from this wireless adapter and I have to search and reconnect to the wireless network everytime I use the computer. It is beyond annoying and too much of a hassle.

  Work beautifully

  Summary: My last wireless nic was a linksys too, but it died after only three years. In desparation, I went to bestbuy and got this one. I have used it for two days now and I think I am going to take it back to try something else. It connected, setup, and got online easy, but the WUSB54GC.EXE process wrecks the processor, sometimes up to 98%! causing the machine to lock up and have issues downloading pages and files. Normally it wouldn't be a big deal but when your running a tunnel across the wireless, it makes the machine real hard to negotiate effectively.

  Had it working in about 2 minutes

  Pros: Easy set up, even with WEP enabled only took a couple minutes to connect out of the box. Pretty good reception and the throughput over my network is excellent with the adapter
