This is a great little webcam for notebooks. I travel a lot and I've been very satisfied with the video and audio quality. I especially like the fact that I can easily pop it on and off my laptop. Logitech makes great products and this is no exception. I used to have a competitive notebook webcam and this one beats it hands down. Read more

I got this for use with Skype 2.0 just before a business trip - I wanted to be able to videocon back home with my wife & newborn son! It's a nifty little package, clips nicely to the top of my Dell Inspiron 4150.

However, following their instructions closely, I was unable to complete the install process - it kept on getting hung up on some DELDRV.EXE process, I recall: the install sequence would crash, and clicking "OK" to acknowledge the crash (as Windows is so helpful for you with) would only bring up yet another crashing program box, no escape possible. If you go to their website you can ferret out lots of user complaints about this problem. I really can't recall how I managed to get around this but it involved rebooting my machine a few times - not the sort of thing one wants to be doing when you should be packing for a trip!

Other than that really grevious issue, the actual performance of the camera is perfectly servicable. Low light performance is so-so; nothing great but not too poor either.

If I had it to do over, I'd probably try a different brand - I've had too many Logitech driver issues over the years, between this & my various uber-mice from them. Read more

First of all notice the people that gave bad reviews were the morons that were to stupid to correctly install the device.

Install the software FIRST, then plug in the camera. It takes extremely clear video and pictures. If you install the optional included software there is a tracking feature that will track your movements and zoom too. The attachment clip now comes with an optional shim so it will grip the curve edge laptop screens too. I highly recommend it for any laptop. Read more

I bought this for video calls home when I travel. My kids love seeing dad and dad's hotel room!

I get random crashes (blue screen of death) when I exit, but it's not that big a deal because I'm done. Other complaints about software may have been solved with the latest version, and my camera included a little rubber boot to help it grip the top of the laptop screen (but I didn't need it).

15 frames per second looks a little choppy, but for what I'm using it for, it's no big deal. Read more

Maybe I got a bad or refurbished on because mine didn't work. The image was extremely blurry (unrecognizable) and the audio driver didn't install (and won't). I'll kick in the extra $ and get one with the Carl Zeiss lens. The only thing with those is you need a dual core CPU to record video without it being choppy and getting out of sync with the audio.
