Pros: Very good looking not bulky like xbox-nicely cubed form, fast loading time for most games(faster than PS2),easy;simple;clean front interface, practically portable,SURPRISINGLY SHARPgraphics, more
Cons: Not really any. But the fact that it is very VERY uncommon that ppl buy them now. Got mine several several years back.

Summary: The bottom line is that you should not hesitate to buy this thing, it has a lot of great features and is overall worth yur $$. But this is my point: THEY'RE SO CHEAP THESE DAYS YOU WUD BE PRACTICALLY RIPPING OFF NINTENDO. This is why i reccomend it but i don't: because it's an old and outdated system. i'm waiting to trade in this beautiful system, 2- i have to say- nicely done controllers (by the way, the best-feeling controllers out there, NINTENDO should be praised!) and 6 games for the new XBOX 360 for christmas. So if you wan't a cheap christmas gift, i highly recc. this product. but in about a year's time no one will even no the gamecube.

Summary: This is a wonderful console but it gets a bad rep. I suppose it's because it hasn't done quite enough marketing and work to appeal to the audiences. While others run to an xbox to go and play their dvd's and cd's, and others play some commonn game on ps2, nintendo works to go beyond what the common gamer can understand and forge new ideas in the gaming industry. It is that quality that makes me a true nintendo fanatic and see the overlooked beauty in their games. If you take the time to really look at it, you will find that the game cube has the most captivating and original games. There is nothing wrong with this console, I like it much better than any other system like the xbox. Is that surprising to you? Well, maybe it's because you haven't actuallyseen the gamecube in action. Yes, my sister has an xbox, but I can't stand the thing, the only decent thing I could find was halo (and I don't see what the game offers that any other old 1st-person-shooter game doesn't offer). A new gamecube game is sure to show you a new, unpredictable gaming experience, unlike any other youv'e experienced, even when it's a sequal game. Other games on different consoles tend to be predictable, and I am the kind of person who doesn't like to watch reruns. So if you want a common, experience, go get any other old console, but if you want something brand new and exciting, a world to emerse yourself in, go and get the king console, the gamecube.

A fun machine, but just can't compete.

Pros: Portable-esqe design; multiple colors; quality games; easy to use interface; cheaper than competing systems.
Cons: Disc format is inferior; no online play; no multimedia features; lack of game releases; not marketed efficiently; has a younger demographic, which can alienate older gamers; doesn't compete sales-wise
Summary: The gamecube offers the familiar fun factor one will come to expect from Nintendo. However, the fun factor is limited, since it's game lineup isn't spectacular. And it'...

Summary: The gamecube offers the familiar fun factor one will come to expect from Nintendo. However, the fun factor is limited, since it's game lineup isn't spectacular. And it's lack of online play, a growing craze, and multimedia playback, now seemingly an industry standard, puts the gamecube at a disadvantage in technological capability. Plus, sales charts show that the Gamecube is not selling very well, primarily because of it's image of appealing soley to a younger age demographic. Overall, it's lack of features is disappointing, but for anybody looking for a good time, and is a little short on cash, the gamecube should be looked into, but don't expect a masterpiece.

Summary: Calm down kiddies let me explain. I bought the GameCube to play Super Smash Brothers Melee (probably one of the best games ever) and was surprised to see how small the game library was after SSBM. But before we get into that, the pros.
1) Don't let the little box fool you, the GameCube had the best graphics out of the 3 systems at the time. This was especially apparent in the Metroid games, Soul Calibur II & III, Resident Evil series and Zelda Twilight Princess.
2) The controllers are brilliantly designed and by far the most comfortable ever on any system. Im a 200lb. 6',2" guy and the controller felt perfect in my hands and all of the buttons were accessible compared to the X-Box and PS2 controllers.
3) The price isn't too bad either, I bought the system when it sold for $149.99 and realized how touch it is to damage it. This is a well built piece of machinery.
Now on to the cons
1) VERY little third party support, it was disapointing to see most of the really good third party games go to PS2 or X-Box while the GameCube had it's large library of Pokemon, Billy Hatcher and Monkey Ball crap-fest games. WTF? The power of the system is useless when the library of games are pathetic. This is the case with Nintendo, yes it has impressive graphics and sounds, but without the good games it just sits there collecting dust. It's like having the most expessive, most glorious, tallest building in the world, but no one moves in, it's useless.
2) Too many Mario based games. What I mean by this is Mario Soccer, Mario DDR, Mario Tennis, Mario Baseball, what's next? Mario Underwater Basket Weaving?
3) The GameCube disks are cool, but they shot themselves in the foot when they made the disks small and their competitors made normal sized CD-DVD disks. No, playing DVDs or CD's isn't a must, but it does make the system more entertaining when you can play movies and music.
4) NO Online games, just one, Final Fantasy. Great game but hardly a reason to buy the Broadband attachment. Come on Nintendo! While Sony and Microsoft made their systems more fexible by online gaming, music and movie capabilities, the GameCube wasn't even in the running. Their response to this was to build a gaming machine. That's great but where are the good games? When the good games came out they were few and far in between.
In conclusion, the GameCube had the better specs and more graphics, but because of their limited game library it never stood a chance against PS2 or X-Box. You can call me a fan boy or whatever but this is reality. Come next year I'm probably going to invest in a PlayStation 3 and leave the kiddie games to the Nintendork fan boys. R.I.P. Nintendo

Summary: If you enjoy the classic franchises brought by Nintendo, you will love this system. While the graphics do not have the sharpness as the XBOX, they can hold their own. The processor inside also means less loading time, and more fun (especially compared to the PS2). Overall, great system if you don't intend on online gaming. Get it now for a great price!
