The worst scanner I've ever used!

Summary: I bought this scanner, set it up, tried it out, then promptly packed it up and brought it right back to the store for a refund. When I tried to scan a Kodak200 color negative, I thought there was something wrong with the negative at first, but after closer inspection, it was just the quality of the scanner that was poor. The image was grainy and the colors were strangely oversaturated and overexposed... I'm pretty adept at Adobe PhotoShop (I've been using it professionally for the past 12 years) and nothing, I mean nothing I could do in PhotoShop could save the integrity of the images that I imported from the PrimeFilm 1800u.
Honestly, I'm surprised that they're still in business. Definitely the most unsatisfactory peripheral I've ever purchased.

Pros: cheap

Cons: doesn't work unless you go for the abstract i.e. Picasso.

The PrimeFilm 1800 series captures 1800 dots per inch (dpi) giving you 3 times the resolution of the average desktop scanner. For graphics professionals, this means that you can enlarge images to approx. 20 cm x 13 cm (7.8" x 5.1") and still maintain the 1: 1 300 dpi resolution sufficient for color separation and offset printing. Previously the realm of experienced graphics professionals and photographers, high resolution color film scanning is now available to a broad range of home, office or home, office or school users in this compact, inexpensive unit. Now there are no excuses not to own one!
