The good: The Quicken 2010 product family gets a fresh home page that makes setting up a personal home finance operation easy. Quicken now also automatically categorizes expenses.
The bad: Many second-tier tools are clunky and text-heavy; Quicken junks up the desktop with extra shortcuts.
The bottom line: Quicken 2010 is a solid finance package, especially for novices, but offers little that's substantively new.

Recipe for Financial Disaster if Actually Used!

Pros: I was able to remove it without to much trouble!
Cons: I can't get this program to stop downloading multiple copies of every transaction from my financial institutions. I 2nd the idea that this product needs some competition so that it improves to a useful level at some point.
Summary: Worse excuse for a financial program & to think, they actually charge you for it! This would be awful if it were free! I truly regret wasting one single penny ...

With no real competition out there I reverted back to using a pencil & paper which I then scan into my computer as PDF files to keep track of them. Why did Microsoft Money abandon this software field? Quicken was clearly no competition to them!

Quicken needs some SERIOUS competition!

Pros: It does what I need, but not as easily as I think it should do.
Cons: Quicken's Tech Support is some of the WORST I?ve ever seen. I tried the online Chat Support twice. Each time, after waiting in a queue for more than 10 minutes, my session was canceled by Quicken and no reason was given.

Wait for future upgrade versions, like when your older version become obsolete.

Pros: Not much at all.
Cons: Slower to load than previous version, clunkier to use and several glaring bugs exist.

Pros: Still using my 2004 version of Quicken which is great.
Cons: Not available to me.
Summary: I would happily upgrade since it does go wrong occasionally, but Intuit abandoned the UK some years ago - and now with MS Money going too where can I go

Pros: It occasionally works downloading data from financial institutions
Nice charts for spendingCons: They don't tell you about the $7.95 monthly user fee from your bank.
Cannot import payee info from bank checks
No easy way to manually adjust account balances

Pros: Quicken 2008 worked OK, at least did what I expected it to do.
Cons: The world's worst customer service. You can never get an answer. Use for three years and you are out of service. If you want to keep the financial downloading services, you have to upgrade.

I may still use 2008 to keep my accounts balanced, but I will never buy another Intuit product again. If you ever want to increase your blood pressure, just try to talk to someone (in management). Pros: My mother always said, "If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all". Sorry Mom, there's nothing good to say here.

I spent so long trying to make it work that by the time I tried to get my money back, I was 62 days into the 60 day money-back guarantee, and no dice! Bank entries were duplicated and their support answer? Go in and manually delete the double entries. Some entries were not picked up. Their solution? Manually enter the ones that were missed. I would love to hear that there is a class-action suit against them. It reminds me of Word Perfect and Lotus from the 1980's. If you wanted to know how to do something, you had to attend classes to know which keys did what. This product is terrible for a new user. If that is you...please do not buy this.

Pros: it's similar to Microsoft Money, unfortunately it doesn't work a damn!
Cons: I entered everything manually NEVER trying to download any transactions from a financial institution or a bank. I was astounded because I could not even find a way to manually enter data associated with an investment account.
