I used to love, now I despise this product.
by dellio2 on January 28, 2012
Pros: Great to be able to quickly download from multiple accounts.
Effective tools help to see how money is spent.Cons: Overrides older versions and wipes out months of data. I am missing
last years information from Feb. to October, so, no use for tax preparation. Stupid, and I now have 15 different versions of my data 20006-11, but all of the data is the same.Summary: This program used to be very useful and I relied on in to prepare taxes and maintain a budget. Now, I can't find months of data and every time ...
Summary: This program used to be very useful and I relied on in to prepare taxes and maintain a budget. Now, I can't find months of data and every time I close 2011, it asks if I want to back it up. i click "yes," then it overrides 2010 and prior years. I will never buy this product again. Back to Excel for me.

by 855849345 on December 28, 2011

Cons: all calls routed oversees with barely audible english. could not import a simple financial statement from a quicken file.
Summary: save your time and try an abacus.

A dedicated user since 2000, never had any trouble.
by Phazehead on December 21, 2011
Pros: Easy to set up multiple accounts, syncs with any bank, calendar is beautiful for forecasting, has helped me organize my finances and manage income from all sources
Cons: Printing is impossible, will not print ledger in any legible way- did not have this problem before Deluxe 2011. While it does help me budget, the actual budget function is not as user friendly as the rest of the options
Summary: I was very surprised to find the negative reviews. I was curious about what others thought about it-that's the only reason I came here- and after reading felt compelled ...
Summary: I was very surprised to find the negative reviews. I was curious about what others thought about it-that's the only reason I came here- and after reading felt compelled to add my experience. I noticed one reviewer mention that compatibility issues are with Macs, maybe so. In which case I'd agree that Quicken should definitely improve their versions for other systems.

Cannot use it anymore.
by mduros on October 3, 2011
Pros: *Not a one
Cons: * Unstable
* Inaccurate calculating
* No longer prints with "compatible" check printing programs (maybe not Quicken's fault but a pain).Summary: After a decade, I have gone back to using a basic spreadsheet and check register because I cannot trust the program anymore. It worked beautifully until last year. When I ...
Summary: After a decade, I have gone back to using a basic spreadsheet and check register because I cannot trust the program anymore. It worked beautifully until last year. When I started to get errors in calculations. I recreated the register several times before upgrading and have the same problems with Quicken 2011. I think it may have to do with the scheduled transactions and memorized transaction list I tend to keep, but if I can't keep a list of monthly payments I make then this product is worthless to me.

Klutsy to use, terrible support, and help is outdated
by seymourgomez on September 10, 2011
Pros: Does the job of bookkeeping and accounting. Category system is great.
Cons: Very non-intuitive; errors requiring work-arounds; hard to follow outdated help and instructions. Not windows command oriented, uses proprietary command system. Doesn't even scroll normally. Online Help gives unexecutable instructions. Phone support h

I blame Microsoft for forcing me to use Quicken!
by eruiz06 on March 22, 2011
Pros: The accounts list is easy to use and well organized. Other than there is no longer an alternative (MS Money), that's about the only thing this product has going for it.
Cons: The UI seems outdated by today's standards and can be a bit clunky navigating to secondary features. Worst of all, planning tools are so buggy that they are almost useless. Even projected balances don't calculate correctly if you try something as simple
Summary: Users of Money will find switching to Quicken very frustrating. With no other options, I sincerely hope Inuit improves this product.

Compatibility seems to be more of a Mac issue.
by AriKona on March 6, 2011
Pros: Concise and thorough financial management software from a company that does little else.
Cons: Compatibility issue to a limited audience. Actually, more of a compatibility issue on the part of the operating system versus the Quicken software itself.

Summary: I use, and have used, Quicken with Bank of America accounts for several years. At least as far back as 2008, there was support from BofA for Quicken. See: http://www.bankofamerica.com/onlinebanking/index.cfm?template=faq_quicken As far as the program itself, there really isn't much else out there that has the functionality of it. MS Money and such are basically knock-offs and this is the business Intuit has been in since who knows when? I got my first copy at the West Coast Computer Faire in 1985 (for DOS) so they are not new to the concept of financial management software.

Not supported by Bank of America until 2011
by Xerious_Maximus on October 27, 2010
Pros: Very nice user interface
Cons: I have spoken with Bank of America representatives, who state that Quicken 2011 is not supported by the bank until sometime next year (2011). This is a disaster for me, as I purchased the software to manage 3 separate Bank of America accounts.
Summary: I dislike the product, because it is not compatible with Bank of America's systems, AND this incompatibility was not clearly advertised by Quicken. Bank of America is the country'...
Summary: I dislike the product, because it is not compatible with Bank of America's systems, AND this incompatibility was not clearly advertised by Quicken. Bank of America is the country's largest bank, and for this software product to be incompatible is unacceptable.
