Summary: Blaming the cancellation of the E-file rebate on "customer feedback" Intuit has very quietly increased their profit margin by at least $15. Yes, their prior games with rebates were bordering on the insane, but I haven't yet found a customer that would not appreciate the option of filing a rebate to save money. But apparently Intuit found many with that opinion. Are they talking to themselves again?

Summary: I've used TurboTax products for my 2003 and 2004 returns and have been pleased to see it improve from year to year. This year's release is substantially revised. The revisions may indeed be for the better, but I can't tell. The program's update download had problems, its text help retrieval is buggy, and the video help presentation fails utterly. It halts at regular intervals after posting a message box that reads "A resource was unavailable" - clear evidence that some programmer is trying to "blame the customer" for the program's downfall. This, on an old W98SE machine that was entirely stable during execution of earlier TurboTax releases, and which has no serious problems when it runs a wide range of other programs, many of them much more demanding than TurboTax. TurboTax Deluxe 2005 shows all the signs of a program that suffers from sloppy implementation and desultory testing.
I have made my living in the electronics industry for more than 40 years, 34 of them as an electrical engineer. I've designed equipment for Hewlett-Packard, Teradyne, Lockheed Martin and several other companies. My responsibilities have included hardware, software and system engineering. When I say that this program is trouble, I can make it stick. -

The Best, easiest to use Tax Program out there, as always.

Pros: Extremely easy to use with all of the tools you need.
Cons: It's Deductable costs additionally instead of being included.

Summary: I have been using Turbo Tax for 10 years and it has improved even more. Easier, quicker, more capable and as always up to date. Moving from Deluxe to Premium was easy and with others I have recommended Turbo Tax Business. I even know several tax professionals that use Turbo Tax for their software. I am self employed so use Premium for my own. Keep up the great work Intuit!

As a long time, very satisfied user of Turbo Tax products I am pleased to see they are continuing their efforts to improve their products. Very user friendly and getting even better. Highly recommended. I would rate it as a 10 but will give it a very high 9 so there is still room for improvement. After all, nothing is totally perfect for all users.
