To enhance network performance, the Fast EtherLink Server NIC supports Load Balancing, a DynamicAccess software feature that boosts server throughput by intelligently and automatically distributing packet transfer among multiple NICs that have been aggregated into one virtual NIC. To the server, these multiple NICs appear as a single network interface. The result is higher bandwidth between the server and switch, eliminating bottlenecks at the server. Self-Healing Drivers (SHD) provide robust operation by monitoring link performance and taking corrective actions as necessary. Resilient Server Links (RSL), also a DynamicAccess software feature, provides high link resiliency to enable redistribution of traffic among remaining NICs if a NIC connection fails. 3Com's Parallel Tasking II performance ensures that more server processing power is available for applications and users. The Fast EtherLink Server NIC supports multiple VLANs with IEEE 802.1Q specification, allowing the server resources to be shared by as many as 64 VLANs when it is used in conjunction with any IEEE 802.1Q VLAN-enabled switch.
