Summary: I just plugged this in and it works great. I get an excellent signal everywhere in my 2200 sq. ft. raised ranch and my router is in the bottom most corner of the house! I don't think you can do better for the price and the warranty makes me feel safe and secure.

Mac OS X 10.4, beware

Summary: Mac users- This card is easy to set up and works well in Mac OS X 10.3. Utilizing encryption on this software, which by Ralink, who also makes the chipset, is not intuitive, and no directions are given. However, when running, everything functions well. Rating 9 out of 10.
If you have Mac OS X 10.4, or are planning on upgrading, this card does not function at all. Support is terrible. On the Ralink forum (www.ralinktech.com) customers are begging for an upgrade, or at least the courtesy of an answer as to when, if ever, Ralink will update their software to be compatible with 10.4. No response.
I find this discourteous and unprofessional. A lifetime guarantee should not mean the lifetime of the current software version.Updated
As previously noted, the Belkin F5D7010 ver 3000 (Ralink chipset) does not function in Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger).
I purchased the F5D7011 card (125Mbps) and it works in Tiger using the AirPort software in my Powerbook G4 (DVI, 667MHz). Oddly, the normal 'AirPort Setup Assistant' application did not work, but the 'AirPort Setup Assistant for Graphite or Snow' hooked up just fine.
Others have claimed similar success with F5D7010 ver 1000 or 2000, also utilizing the Broadcom chipset. Should work just fine, but I have not tried these and cannot confirm their findings.
I would rate the current configuration 4 out of 5 stars in Mac OS X 10.4.Updated
Ralink udated their software for compatibility with OS X 10.4 (Tiger). The software is still buggy (as was previous version), but livable, and the card now works just fine. In fact, I believe the antenna/reception of this (54mbs) card is markedly better than the newer (125mbs) F5D7011 card, which is Apple AirPort compatible.
Would change the rating for this card to 8 out of 10 stars.1 out of 1 users found this user opinion helpful.

No headaches with Belkin!!!
Pros: Easy set-up... oh and it works! I was talked into buying a D-Link product at the store first. It was recommended by the sales rep, so I took the recommendation, and rolled with it. Got home and started setting it up. And BAM! The biggest headache in the w

card.If you are 10 feet away or less it works great. I go
in the room next door , either side 11.5 feet away and
it is a disaster.Constant interuptions and takes 5
minutes to reconnect using either the Windows or Belkin
software. The Belkin software is nice but I did not
spend $50 for just pretty software.
Bought a TrendNet TEW-424UB usb wireless adapter and I
can connect at my neighbor's house 150 feet away at 70%.1 out of 2 users found this user opinion helpful.

Summary: It is a really good product for the money. It comes with a nice UI that is powerful, simple and to the point. I can get all sorts of networks with this card, ones I've never been aware of before and my signal on my home LAN is 100% all through the house, garage and outside in my car. I am only annoyed by the fact that I can to install the software instead of just plugin it in but for the software you get, I say it is completly worth the 2 minute hassle. Yeah, I am type A and I am also a power user but this is a really good product! I do not know what those guys who rated this a 5 or lower are doing but it works great!
Oh and the MAC is easy to change and if you know how, the channels are too!

Summary: Just 1 min to install everything and works great. Nice range too and real fast network scanner. Anyway, beware of the installation: if a command comes up asking in which country you live tell it something like the UK, yet some countries have limited channel range (US has 1-11, Spain has 10-11, etc). By the way, always use Belkin's propietary software instead of windows wireless utility, Belkin's works much better.
Great job, Belkin.

Specifications
- Manufacturer: Belkin
- Part number: F5D7010
- Description: The Belkin 54g Wireless Networking products run at speeds of up to 54Mbps and operate on the same 2.4GHz frequency band as 802.11b Wi-Fi products. Backward-compatible with existing Wi-Fi-certified IEEE 802.11b products and with other products that display the 54g mark, the complete range of 54g Wireless Networking products from Belkin will be backward-compatible with current wireless 802.11b products already installed and will continue to be operational and interoperable with wireless 54g products being added to a home or business network. What sets the Belkin line of 54g Wireless Networking products apart from the competition is their included software programs. Designed to assist the end user in using these products, Belkin includes its Easy Install Wizard, which eliminates the need for users to deal with complicated information such as IP addresses and host names in order to connect the router to the Internet, and takes the guesswork out of setting up a router. Once the user inserts the CD into the computer's CD-ROM drive, the Easy Install Wizard takes over the job of determining what type of connection is being used and setting up the router to connect to the Internet Service Provider. Once the router setup is finished, the user has an option to set up more computers, or just begin surfing the Internet. PRODUCT FEATURES: Fits in any 32-bit CardBus slot; 64- and 128-bit WEP encryption; Keeps notebook batteries running longer with advanced, low-power consumption chipset; Offers Turbo mode.
