worth buying
by happyacqua on March 6, 2009
Pros: just like it say on the box, Dual-Band, this wireless usb adapter picks up both 2.4Ghz and 5 Ghz signals, and has a execllent range and signal quality. very easy to set up, from box opening to visiting the first webpage only took 2 mins.
Cons: wusb600n comes with a usb protection cap which a little difficult to remove, and i have to find a place for the cap since the adapter is docking on my pc all the time. other then that i could not find anything that I do not like about this product.
Summary: the bottom line is if you are planing to set up wireless network or up grade from wireless g to n, and it does pick up 2.4 and 5 ...
Summary: the bottom line is if you are planing to set up wireless network or up grade from wireless g to n, and it does pick up 2.4 and 5 Ghz signals, also signal quility in my house is execllent, I believe this is the wireless usb adapter should be the first consideration, because it cost around $75 + tax (in my area), I see some other cost extra and work less.

Worked for one week
by iofiel on January 15, 2010
Pros: While it worked, it did a great job. Constant connections between good and very good and a130Mbps rate.
Cons: After a week, the adaptor stopped working with the provied software. Connecting it through the Windows XP software gave me a much slower and shakier connection. Trying to get technical support was difficult.
Summary: I was told by Linksys that the product does not support XP's Service Pack 3 and that there was nothing they could do to help me. As a result ...
Summary: I was told by Linksys that the product does not support XP's Service Pack 3 and that there was nothing they could do to help me. As a result I have an adaptor that, at best, gets a shaky 2-3 bar connection. Although it worked great to start with, buying it was ultimately a mistake.

Easy install. Great connection and speed!
by sgrecco on February 25, 2009
Pros: Install simple.
Finds Network quickly
Delivers max speed provided by Router.
Able to bail out of poor Dell internal card/antennae on my Dell Inspiron 1520Cons: It would be great if it was even smaller.
Summary: A USB solution was a lot easier than getting inside the box for replacing the internal card. Only time will tell if it has a long life!

Worked for 3 months - then failed
by synthesist99 on May 24, 2010
Pros: When it is aligned - and working, throughput is great
Cons: sensitive to positioning
failed after 3 monthsSummary: not worth the price - get one with a history of reliability

Very inconsistent connection
by shiffjam on March 4, 2010
Pros: size and price were both attractive; set up was pretty easy
Cons: signal strength is mediocre at best; constantly drops the connection; very frustrating experience
Summary: looks are deceiving - the packaging is slick and the price is right; bottom line is it doesn't do the job that it needs to do

Unstable, poor driver availability and bad reception
by martinsamuelsson on January 4, 2010
Pros: Works and gives decent throughput when connected. Nice form factor and good build quality (from what I can tell)
Cons: Poor reception (much worse than what else I have tried.
For Win7 I had to use Ralink drivers (Linksys wouldn't work)
I have to unplug/replug a lot of the time on Win7 (not the same under Vista)
Can't get USB cradle to work (neither Vista nor W7) -
works but you have to unplug and plug in each time
by anita26b on January 3, 2010
Pros: Speed is fine once you unplug and plug in
Cons: Must unplug and plug each time
Summary: I'd purchase a different brand

- Description: The Ultra RangePlus Dual-Band Wireless-N USB Network Adapter WUSB600N is the simple way to add or upgrade wireless connectivity in your desktop or notebook computer. Just plug it into your computer's USB port and enjoy incredible high-speed wireless network access. The Dual-Band Wireless-N USB Network Adapter WUSB600N uses the very latest wireless networking technology, Wireless-N (draft 802.11n). By overlaying the signals of multiple radios for each band, Wireless-N's "Multiple In, Multiple Out" (MIMO) technology multiplies the effective data rate. Unlike ordinary wireless networking technologies that are confused by signal reflections, MIMO actually uses these reflections to increase the range and reduce "dead spots" in the wireless coverage area. The robust signal travels farther, maintaining wireless connections much farther than standard Wireless-G. And with Wireless-N, the farther away you are, the more speed advantage you get. It works great with standard Wireless-G, -A, and -B equipment, but when both ends of the wireless link are Wireless-N, the throughput can be increased even more by using twice as much radio band. Dual-band wireless networks operate in both the 2.4 and 5 gigahertz radio bands at the same time, effectively doubling the available wireless bandwidth. For instance, you could set up your network to handle video streaming on one radio band, and use the other band for simultaneous data transfers - avoiding any interference or collisions that would degrade the video performance. The Dual-Band Wireless-N USB Network Adapter allows you to connect using whichever band works the best for your situation. To help protect your data and privacy, your wireless connection is protected by industrial-strength encryption. The included Setup Wizard will walk you through configuring the adapter to your network's settings, step by step. The incredible speed of Wireless-N makes it ideal for media-centric applications like streaming video, gaming, and Voice over IP telephony, and gives you plenty of headroom to run multiple media-intense data streams through the network at the same time, with no degradation in performance. Get your computer connected to either band of Wireless-N, as well as Wireless-G, Wireless-A, and Wireless-B networks with the Ultra RangePlus Dual-Band Wireless-N USB Network Adapter WUSB600N from Linksys.
