  DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY, Buy a regular AV cable, there's a trick to it

  Summary: don't bother buying this product if you already own a video wire, like the one that would tipically come with a video camera. (Note new video cameras have started to come out with their own special wire, but if you look at the picture of the iPod wire and the end looks the same as your wire then you can use it.)
  
  Anyways all you need to do to get your regular av cable working is reverse the video wire and the right audio channel wire when plugging in to a device (ie TV, Stereo).
  
  In lamen terms simply plug your regular av cable in to the top of the iPod (where headphones go) then plug the red wire in to the yellow slot on the device (TV, Stero..) the yellow wire in to the red slot on the device, and the white wire in to the white slot.
  
  For those more techy here's what apple did to make you buy their product. As you may know on the 3mm end that plugs in to the iPod there are three black, yellow, or white bands. 2 of those bands are for audio, 1 is for video. When you plug the end in to a device like a camera, those three bands corrospond with 3 bands inside the device and complete the circuit, the signels then travel through the wire to the jacks at the end of it (the yellow red and white jacks). This is universal on every product out there pretty much, except for the iPod. The iPod reversed the red and yellow band inside the iPod, so when you plug in your 3mm end, the bands are in a different order, hence the reason you need to reverse the wires that plug in to your device (TV, Stereo ect.)

  feels cheap, but does what is is suposed to do

  Pros: It is simple stylish, has god sound quality.

  Summary: I bought this because I wanted to watch the videos on my iPod on my TV. I am able to just fine, but the videos are of terrible quality and really take away from what you are watching. The cable is probably capable of displaying higher quality video, but all of the video designed for an iPod is designed for a 2" screen. With AppleTV out I am guessing that there will be higher quality if not High Def videos and movies on the iTunes store sometime in the next few months. Sound quality was as expected very good. I can use this to hook up to the line in on my stereo as well as my car stereo. Belkin offers the same thing for the same price, but you can find it cheaper if you look on places like Amazon or NewEgg. I have not gotten a chance to play with the Belkin one, but I am guessing it will be higher quality, as many of their products are in comparison to Apple's.
