Very good AVR. Flawless 3D passthrough.
by Jibedaddy on December 9, 2011
Pros: 3D passthrough
7.2ch HD audio. Great for BD HD sound.
Net streaming - Pandora, Internet Radio, etc.
Great bang for bucks.Cons: Zone limitations (if you need that), but for a single room (ie: Theater) it's great.

Summary: My wife loves it if for nothing else than the simplicity of playing Net audio streams. I setup some channels on Pandora online, and away she goes. Pick a half dozen favorite Internet Radio channels and your music library is unlimited.
The only money I wasted was on the 4-year CPS warranty which has not been needed yet. 1 year down, 3 to go.
My kick is for home theater usage. More and more BDs are coming with HD audio. This AVR has handled it all very well.
Zero problems with 3D signals whether from BD player or DirecTV (HD of course). Have a Panasonic plasma on Monitor 1 and a JVC 3D projector on Monitor 2. Works great!

I can not recommend this product
by gazware on February 25, 2011
Pros: Easy setup
Great sound
Nice price pointCons: Lack of quality.
The unit is Made in China.
Out of the box, it worked fine. Now that it's 4 months old, I'm returning it for repairs for the second time.Summary: When I first started using my Denon 3311CI, I loved it and I gave it 5 stars and a great review (on Amazon). A few short months later, my opinion ...
Summary: When I first started using my Denon 3311CI, I loved it and I gave it 5 stars and a great review (on Amazon). A few short months later, my opinion has changed and I now regret the purchase. I can no longer recommend this product.
The first sign of trouble was being prompted to configure Audyssey. It had been configured, but maybe there was a power failure or something else that caused the unit to need it configured again. So I configured it, again. About 2 weeks later? same prompt. Then the prompts became more frequent, until virtually daily. I reached out to Denon Customer Support, and they said I had to send the unit in for service.
At the same time, I noticed that I could no longer access the web front end from my computer(s). I tried several things, including disabling firewalls, etc. I noticed that the unit was 'suddenly' set to DHCP (I had set it up with a Static IP Address). I also found that I was locked out of the options that would allow me to change any of the network settings. I contacted Denon Customer Support and didn't get very far. I felt like they were sending me in circles.
At this point, I was ready to pack up the unit and send it for the Audyssey repairs. I added the Network problems to the issues list and dropped the support case with Denon.
While packing up my 3311CI, I noticed that it was "Made in China". I had not noticed that before. I honestly felt that I was paying a little more for something 'not' made in China. In-the-end, I guess I could have bought any amp, saved some money and had the same level of 'quality'.
A week later the unit was back. Same serial number, not refurbished. I set it up, including Audyssey, and the networking functions and web interface were all good! The repair description alluded to a firmware upgrade.
Two days later, there's the prompt for Audyssey! Same exact issue. I called the repair facility? left a message and now I'm waiting to find out what the next steps are in my quest to get this repaired.
It's a shame that a great name like Denon is tarnished by cheap parts and cheap labor. I, for one, am willing to pay extra for 'quality' and I thought I was. But more and more I'm finding that quality simply doesn't exist anymore. You can pay more for something, but in the end, it's still 'cheap'. Maybe my situation is unique? maybe I have one of very few lemons. But it's the only Denon I have and it will be the last one I buy. -
.Very Impressive!
by Rfdwash on February 4, 2011
Pros: Distortion is low, sound crisp and clear. LoginDenon.com is nice feature.1000's of streaming radio stations worldwide for free...Upgrades Online (already did 1). Favored this receiver over Pioneer Elite SC-37. Video Upscaling is great!
Cons: The manual is terrible! Took me three hours to figure it out. It would be nice if the remote lit up. Take a look at the Denon 991...almost the same exact specs....
Summary: I'm satisfied! However, thinking about exchanging it for the Denon 4311 which has even more power and weighs 13 lbs. more!
