Excellent quality, great bang-for-buck
by moalam on April 29, 2010
Pros: high-end features at a budget price
iPhone/iPod integration with nothing else to buy
excellent sound
high quality video upconversion/upscaling to 1080p for analog inputs
7.1 surround
attractive unitCons: confusing remote
not-so-good owners manualSummary: You cannot get better bang-for-buck than this unit. 7.1 surround, iPhone/iPod integration, excellent sound quality, superb 1080p upconversion/upscaling of your analog inputs, 4 assignable hdmi inputs, 1 ...
Summary: You cannot get better bang-for-buck than this unit. 7.1 surround, iPhone/iPod integration, excellent sound quality, superb 1080p upconversion/upscaling of your analog inputs, 4 assignable hdmi inputs, 1 hdmi output, auto calibration through MCACC, and 110 watts per channel of power - all of these features are packed within this reasonably priced unit. And it looks sharp to boot! It took a while to find the buttons on the remote, and the owners manual is not very informative or intuitive - it seriously needs an index! Having said that, I was able to figure my way through the setup pretty easily! You will love the way it "plugs and plays" with your iPhone/iPod - of course, it would have been nice if the album art could be displayed from the iPhone/iPod, but you have to upgrade to the VSX 1020-K to get that. In my opinion, it blew away the competition (Onkyo, Denon) in a much higher price range! I would say, look no further than the VSX 920-K, or the VSX 1020-K.

Summary: I bought this receiver after alot of research . The price and features are outstanding, This completes my home theater,so far every video source ive input has shown up on my Toshiba HDTV at 1080p even non hd channels from my cable box look fantastic, even netflix from my blu-ray player looks better and the surround sound and dolby effects are spot on. This receiver was an upgrade from a 14 yr old JBL that i used to think had good sound (LOL) . Overall i dont think you will find a better receiver for the price.

Summary: As for the model 920-K VSX conclusion is that the receiver is bad because every power outage destroy all int.memorirane radio stations and a complete setup reset to factory settings! The Pioneer in Croatia and Japan say that this is normal??!!!!

Great product and it's efficient on power
by crburto on September 2, 2011
Pros: MCACC, DTS-HD, 3D HDMI switching. HDMI-CEC so when the TV goes off so does the amp and vice versa.
Cons: Don't ask grandma to install, so many plugs. No DLNA for streaming with the rest of the home network.
Summary: Price is good for the performance. Drives the neighbors crazy with my Klipsch B20's.
