Awesome bang for the bucks. 3 ohm systems don't compare

Pros: With the saw 3800 sub this system vibrates the windows. The clarity when cranked up is distortion free. The GUI (graphic user interface) makes set-up a breeze electronically.
Cons: For me, the speaker terminals were not RCA jacks. Some kind of plastic screw (red and black) and hard to see if the speaker wires were properly installed. Fm has poor reception in the mountains of central PA.

Summary: I wasn't happy with the sound from "All in the Box" systems. Sounded like a snare drum to me, tinty. I bought this system through the wheel of fortune web site along with SS-7000p tall boy speakers, SS-CN5000P center speaker and a SAW-3800 powered sub. The sub has no crossover but it does standby if not used. The system is rated at 105 watts per channel with center speakers at 150 watt max, the tall boys and sub at 200 watt max. This system definitely delivers the sound quality I have been searching for. With my old stereo speakers I have a 5.1 system. (The system blew out my radio shack book shelf speakers) . The sound effects are enjoyable with all inputs.
The only thing I haven't been able to do is program the Sony remote to turn on my Direct tv receiver. Direct tv doesn't release their codes.

Great connectivity and easy to setup

Pros: Has every connection you need and more. Plus you can very easily customize the channel setup combinations for video and audio connectivity to suit your needs.
Cons: There are no 120 volt receptacles on the back to control your other devices with the receiver's remote. I have to turn on the TV, then the cable box, then the receiver. That also means the sub woofer is always on. CNET, I wish you had warned me.
Summary: Overall it is a great receiver and I would recommend it but only if you first figure out your power control options.
