Love the clean power and all the hookups but at high output it gets very hot contacted Yamaha they said the RX-V861 has protection aganist over heating and they also suggested that I purchase a fan to solve the problem.Updated
The RX-V861 does get very hot at high out put contacted Yamaha they said buy a fan because you must have it in a cabnet no it is not. So Yamaha says that the reciever is protected should it ever get to hot it will cut off.6 out of 6 users found this user opinion helpful.

Great AV receiver
by Davis1960 on September 26, 2008
Pros: Clean sound even through my computer. Does a good job on the video too. replaced 25 year old Teac.
Cons: FM antenna supplied barely works in this area, reception was horrible. Had to make an exterior antenna to receive any stations.
