  My Mac likes these WAY MORE than Memorex

  Pros: The superdrive in my Mac seems to make coasters out of Memorex. With the Verbatim disks, I get good, reliable storage media.

  Cons: They're hard to find. When I say hard, it just means that I can't get them at Target or Walmart. No biggie. I usually pick some up from Best Buy.

  The only dual-layer media you can really trust.

  Pros: Quality is consistent, and burns are true and reliable. If you get a coaster, it's likely something YOU did wrong.

  Cons: Very expensive. Shop and compare prices (plus shipping) online, and buy from known businesses that do quantities, and value their reputation with customers. You don't want old stock that may have been exposed to extreme heat or bad handling issues.

  Summary: Only one other brand of media, Taiyo Yuden, (made only in Japan), can be fully trusted, It's hard to find, and there are many fake copies of that product. Like Verbatim, Taiyo Yuden has several quality choices also. Their "good stuff" is also expensive, so to avoid any problems, stick with these Branded Verbatims, and you'll get great results.
  
  Like anything worth your investment of time and effort (your data), you get what you pay for. You can buy cheaper media, but you'll pay in more failed burns (coasters), and/or unreliable data shelf life. Want to trust your data to cheap media? It's up to you. I feel more confident that my data is still the same, on a good readable disc, after several years of storage... If you want to trust the quality of your storage investment, you can rely on Verbatim to meet your demands. These dual-layer discs are used and endorsed by the pros. Don't just take my word, do some research. I did, and it saved me time, effort, and data.
  
  In the long run, even at the higher price, these are a bargain!
