The good: The Panasonic DMP-BDT210 has built-in Wi-Fi, a simple user interface, and an excellent suite of streaming-media services, including Netflix, Amazon Instant, Vudu, Pandora, Skype, and CinemaNow. The DMP-BDT210 also has the fastest overall disc-loading speeds we've tested. And though its "touch-free" disc tray opener is a little gimmicky, we found it occasionally useful.
The bad: The Panasonic DMP-BDT210 has fewer overall streaming services than some competitors, missing some high-profile services like Hulu Plus and MLB.TV. It also lacks onboard memory for accessing BD-Live features.
The bottom line: The Panasonic DMP-BDT210's built-in Wi-Fi, simple user interface, Amazon Instant streaming, and blazing fast disc-loading speeds make it our favorite Blu-ray player of 2011 so far.

Works perfectly. No issue with Netflix.
by NealMM on May 18, 2011
Pros: Was hesitant to purchase because of negative Netflix feedback. But my Netflix works perfectly. I have used it everyday for 2 weeks. Easy setup. Found wireless router quickly.
Cons: Haven't tried 3d yet. Have to wait for Avatar disk.
Summary: Another super Panasonic product.

Another great product from Panasonic
by basserx on April 18, 2011
Pros: Easy setup and user friendly navigation. Super fast load times compared to other name brand players Ive used.
Cons: Needs a firmware update out of the box, but really i don't consider it a negative.
The wireless connection was a little tricky and wouldn't connect automatically, but after a few router settings it was a breeze.Summary: I think Panasonic really raised the bar on the 2011 models at this price point. Summary: I think Panasonic really raised the bar on the 2011 models at this price point. Panasonic has been pushing for faster load times which i think they accomplished on the BDT210. The sensor on top to open the tray with a wave of your hand is a nice innovated feature. All the apps stream effortlessly with wireless, However 1080p is a little glitchy but no fault of the player, as my Netgear wireless N is about 50ft away and needs to push at least 5ghz at about 25ft for 1080p streaming, but 720P isn't a problem.
Apps include Vudu,Netflix,Youtube and Cinema HD Pandora, Skype, Amazon and the Weather channel.
DLNA is a great feature i can stream all my music, photos.
The 3d on this player is top notch and looks fantastic on my 3d plasma, and features a depth controller and a new chip design to allow adjustable preferred 3d depth of field also features 2d to 3d conversion.
Its going to be hard to beat this sub $200 player for all the performance and features that the 210 offers, nice job Panasonic.2 out of 2 users found this user opinion helpful.

Another Nerflix bust..
by pt1209 on May 25, 2011
Pros: Nice design, plays Blu Ray Movie as well as others.
Cons: NETFLIX DOES NOT WORK!!

Summary: Put me on the list of ex-owners who purchased this player with high expectations and sadly forced to return this player because of the known Netflix bug. Using this player to watch Netflix was 2nd on our list of things our new Blu Ray player needed to do and it failed miserably. I tried using wifi and then hard wired it (ran a dedicated Ethernet line to the player) and neither helped, we even went as far as bringing our kids Apple TV II down and connected it and it ran Netflix flawlessly so it's apparent the problem is with the player. If Netflix is a major buying preference loom else where, rolling the dice isn't worth it, now we have to repack this player, bring it to ups, await Amazon to receive it then refund our money.. Times like this makes us wish we bought it at a local brick and mortar store...

No netflix this was the primary reason for purchase
by papaobewon on May 14, 2011
Pros: Updated firmware was easy to connect to my wireless router, grand daughters love the hand pass to open and close the disc door.
Cons: Netflix was the MAIN reason to buy this product I hope the firmware gets updated soon or that Amazon has a solution for a return

Summary: I chose the DMP-BDT210 because it offered access to Amazon video and because other users praised its interface and quick loading. Integrated wifi was also a must have feature. Some users have reported problems with wifi, while others had no problem. I decided to buy from Amazon due to their great return policy and low price, knowing that if I had problems with wifi, I could easily return the unit. I am happy to report that wifi works flawlessly with the latest firmware update which is part of the easy setup process. This is my first BD player, and the picture rivals OTA HD. I do not have a 3D TV so I can only rate 2D performance. I would highly recommend this player to anyone.

Slow and Netflix blinking problems
by SiliconValleyDon on November 14, 2011
Pros: Good price for product including Skype
Cons: Very slow loading and navigating, particularly with Netflix. Likely a very cheap/slow processor.

Summary: I bought this unit to get Skype in my living room, which seems to run well. But I also wanted to use it for Netflix. Waiting for the Netflix to start, and navigating the menus is painfully slow. But my main issue with Netflix is that it "blinks" twice once in awhile during the movie. The screen sort of blinks off and on quickly, then repeats about 1 second later. I would estimate every 3-4 minutes.
Just checked some other sites, and there are a large number of people complaining about the Netflix blinking issue. Apparently, it is due to the periodic change in bitstream rates via your network from Netflix. No fix out yet for this from Panasonic, as far as I could see. Hopefully they will figure out how to get to a smooth transition, as I don't see this issue on my Tivo box on the same network.
I actually bought a second unit (the DMP-BDT110) as it was only $80 on sale, and used it on a second television set, with the same exact Netflix blinking problem. Very disappointing to see the same problem. Didn't they test this thing, or have some criteria for passing Netflix? Although I haven't seen others complaining about blinking, since it happens on both units I'm thinking it must be an issue. I run Netflix on my Tivo on the same home network, and no issues.
Updated on Nov 14, 2011
I also didn't see any workaround. It would be nice if you could just select a minimum bitrate or something (particularly if running on a smaller TV, where you won't notice).1 out of 1 users found this user opinion helpful.

This player has serious networking and Netflix issues.

Summary: Trying to get this player to stay connected to my wireless internet was such a nightmare and very inconsistent. When i actually would be able to get a connection, Netflix would then have constant issues on actually working. I have a PS3 and it hasnt had a single problem. I took this player back and got the Sony BDP-S580 and it worked perfectly from the start. This Panasonic "could" have been great...

Cons: I downloaded the last firmware update. Now I'm getting gateway failure messages. I found the numbers and filled them in and it still fails. I called Panasonic and did everything they said until I get disconnected. I'm hoping some can help me out. If I mis

Excellent Product for the cost!
by henryr10 on August 19, 2011
Pros: Netflix and Pandora streaming beautifully.
No Blu Ray discs to try but the two regular DVD's we watched were incredibly sharp.
Audio was excellent.Cons: Only one and that was my fault, I think.
"OK Button" opens the Alphanumeric Keypad for login in/password on wired Netflix account.

Just received it today, ran the update.
Watched a conventional movie and a 'Leverage' Season 3 DVD Disc and I am Very Pleased.
The Leverage Disc looked as good as the regular Directv HD Broadcast TV show.
I'm running it thru a Yamaha HTR6180 7:2 Receiver and into a Panasonic Viera TH50PZ800.
No glitches w/ either unit and got rid of my Roku and TV remotes!
Beautiful Picture and Excellent Sound.
Pandora really rocked! Netflix looked better than w/ my Roku setup.
Still have acres of features to try but I really like the Home Page setup.
Very intuitive and easy to use.
Love the Netflix Button! Wish there was a Pandora one.......
Can't wait to pop in a Blu Ray disc!1 out of 1 users found this user opinion helpful.

Great from reviews.
by argh13 on June 29, 2011
Pros: No Netflix, no problem.
Cons: Too many boo hoo's from reviewers for Netflix.
Summary: Getting ready to buy a blu ray and do not want or need Netflix. All said and done, it's an excellent player.
