The good: The Panasonic DMP-BDT210 has built-in Wi-Fi, a simple user interface, and an excellent suite of streaming-media services, including Netflix, Amazon Instant, Vudu, Pandora, Skype, and CinemaNow. The DMP-BDT210 also has the fastest overall disc-loading speeds we've tested. And though its "touch-free" disc tray opener is a little gimmicky, we found it occasionally useful.
The bad: The Panasonic DMP-BDT210 has fewer overall streaming services than some competitors, missing some high-profile services like Hulu Plus and MLB.TV. It also lacks onboard memory for accessing BD-Live features.
The bottom line: The Panasonic DMP-BDT210's built-in Wi-Fi, simple user interface, Amazon Instant streaming, and blazing fast disc-loading speeds make it our favorite Blu-ray player of 2011 so far.

Sorry if some folks don't agree with my review, but when I buy a product I expect ALL of the features to work and the manufacturer to take responsibility for their product. This is a heads up for anyone that DOES want to use the Netflix feature in conjunction with the Blu-Ray.
I bought the DMP-BDT210 from Best Buy for the Internet streaming options of Netflix and Amazon Video On Demand. I was very disappointed that I was forced to return this player and replace it with the Sony BDP-S580.
The reason I say disappointed is that (PROS) I liked the setup and feel that Panasonic has for its interface. The wireless setup automatically connected to my Wireless N instead of Wireless G using the WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup). The DLNA services worked without issue.
The problems (CONS) are with the Netflix streaming. Panasonic uses the login/password method for you to connect to Netflix instead of the activate code used with other products. Once you input your credentials, you are presented with a very nice layout of your Instant Queue, Recently Watched and Recommended. Unfortunately, YOU CANNOT WATCH THEM! When you choose ANY movie/TV show, you get the message "We're having trouble playing this title right now. Please try again later or select a different title."
When I contacted Netflix about it, I was informed that this is a known issue with the T210 and they gave me Panasonic's Support phone number. Netflix also told me to ask for 2nd level support as first level would not be able to actually do anything to fix the problem. Long story short, Panasonic DID NOT HELP with the issue. Their response was that Panasonic is aware of the problem. I was told that someone from 2nd level support would contact me within 24-48 hours. A week and a half later I still had not heard from tech support. I did some Google searches and discovered that this has been a problem since early March 2011. This is now the middle of April!!
As of this writing the latest firmware update is 1.56 and does not resolve the issue.
Now here is the kicker. It appears that this problem is a hit-or-miss. SomeT210's work perfectly while others do not. Something is different on the player other than the firmware/Software. I tried with two different BDT210's from two different Best Buy stores and had the same error with Netflix. I exchanged the Panasonic for the SAMSUNG BD-D6500 and was able to stream Netflix, but it would occasionally freeze. The player also would freeze on the Twitter App. I exchanged the Samsung for the SONY BDP-S580. Sony uses its own custom interface for the internet apps and the Netflix one is not as sophisticated as the Panasonic or the Samsung. Actually Sony's is subpar compared to the competition, but it works. The other (semi-bad) thing about the Sony is that they did not integrate a high end Wireless card in the hardware. The player will not connect to a Wireless N network unless you are broadcasting at the lower 2.4 GHz range. 5.0 GHz will not even show up when scanning for networks. Both the Samsung and the Sony connected to the 5.0 range.
My feelings on the Panasonic: It could have been a very good product. I might have been willing to wait a bit longer for a fix if the Panasonic Tech Support would have been more straight forward about the problem AND had at least responded to me in the 24 to 48 hour time frame that they committed to. I work in a tech support environment and a nonchalant answer and no follow up with the customer would be un-acceptable at my company.
So if you're thinking of getting the Panasonic DMP-BDT210 for Netflix streaming, check on the Panasonic site to see if they have a newer firmware version than 1.56. Also call Netflix to see if the problem is still being reported. Good luck.

It is amazing to me that the CNET crew continues to rate items high just on features. All you have to do is 5 min of research to see that this thing is not worth the money due to its problems. Forget to mention, out of the box it downloaded the latest 1.59 firmware. Since I didn't use this before 1.59 I don't know if it had previous problems but like I said in my review, it's working flawlessly, yes, eve Netflix and NO, I don't work for Panasonic.

Blazing Load Speed - Great Features

Pros: Fast Disc load speed, Fast Menu's, Solid selection of streaming services, Easy Navigation, Very Flexible config option, Easy Wireless or Wired set-up (tried both), DLNA that works, nice form factor.
My 210 was out of the box and playing in 15 minutes,Cons: Menu speed while navigating streaming services is a little slow but not bad and I think maybe a function of the services. USB keyboard support would have been nice.

I too am having the Netflix issue, the interface looks nice but many of us (based upon feedback from AVS Forum) can't watch a single stream from Netflix. I tried via wifi and hard line with no luck. First line customer support acts like it is a new problem every time you call. After 3 calls got a message to call Nick in customer service, after 25 minutes on hold was told that the engineers in Japan were working on the issue. When I said he could have left that on the message instead of having me wait on hold to tell me that, he hung up on me. The common answer for every call is we will have more information tomorrow, like they are close to a solution, that was a month ago.
Now that the Netflix issues have been solved am very happy with the player. Would improve my rating to 5 stars.

The company needs to be more honest about its problem with the Netflix connection issue and quit wasting people's time trying to fix something that can't be fixed. Netflix is just one of many uses of the machine and can be replaced on another device that is likely owned by many owners of blu-ray players. Panasonic should honor its warranty and replace devices that do not work or remove Netflix from its Vericast options.

I have to say it is a huge change from my old LG blu ray. This thing loads very fast, connects to wifi fast, and has stayed connected. I havent had a problem with Netflix at all. I have used it for several hours everyday for the past 2 weeks, Things are looking good on this Blu ray, i did have a firmware update upon connecting to wifi, so if you get it make sure you update.
Oh i was worried about the hand scan just randomly opening while watching a movie. It doesn't you kinda have to go slow across the top to make it open.2 out of 2 users found this user opinion helpful.

Summary: I installed this player on August 1, 3 days ago. Set-up was very easy; I didn't consult the User Manual at all. After connecting to my home network Wi-fi the firmware was updated to 1.68. I'll admit that I have not been a subscriber to Netflix but out of curiosity (due to negative reviews on this site) I initiated a trial membership. I was delighted to find out that Netflix streaming videos offer English sub-titles on many titles, or at least those that I looked up. I am hard of hearing and depend upon captions and subtitles. I have watched two movies on Netflix so far with nary a glitch or hiccup. This is my first streaming video experience not using a computer and I am impressed. As for the more important functions -- playing Blu-rays and DVDs, this machine is beautiful. It is my second Blu-ray player. My first one-- a Sony 350 that is nearly 3 years old -- now does duty with our second (smaller) HDTV. The Sony takes 20 seconds just to open the tray to receive a disk and much more time to load a Blu-ray. By comparison the Panasonic is blazing fast. What a difference.
I must also admit that I was hesitant to get this player at first because of some of the scathing reviews on this site, but I was also curious as to why user reviews at other sites gave it much more positive ratings. I finally decided not to trust the negative reviews here because some were so critical of CNET itself. (Really? Blame CNET because their reviewer got the machine to work and you couldn't?) I did buy mine from a merchant with a good return policy, but it is clear that I won't need to return this.
The one problem I did have was in the clash of remotes. I have a Panasonic DVD recorder in my home theater and suddenly both Panasonics were responding to each other's remotes. Had I bothered to read the user manual earlier I would have learned that it is easy to reset the remote code on one or the other so that they will work independently. Once I looked this up I reset the remote code on the 210 and both machines are happy.
I certainly have no doubts that some people have had legitimate problems getting Netlfix to work. I can't answer to what may have been causing their problems. I would guess firmware except that the CNET reviewer did not have any Netflix problems with the older firmware. Never has playing a Blu-ray Disc been so quick and easy and accessing the Netflix and other on line services been so quick and effortless. This slim player fits almost anywhere unless you want to place it so you can wave your hand to open and close the disc tray, give it a little more space. The player is glossy black with very little other design elements, but you really don't need that in a player, just make it easy to operate, load BDs fast and access the services you want quickly-this player does this effortlessly. My other Panasonics BD players are still going strong(sold them to family and friends), I just had to upgrade to this one, then I got two for both HDTVs, this brand holds up well,too.

Summary: Over the last couple of years I have noticed a disturbing trend at CNET - a diminishing amount of integrity, accuracy, and thoroughness in its product reviews. The recent review of the Panasonic DMP-BDT210 (reviewed by Matthew Moskovciak and edited by John P. Falcone) provides an excellent example. This was a product of which I had great interest, and I was heartened by Matt's 4 stars and Editor's Choice. Then I began to read the customer reviews and noticed a large number of comments regarding this product's failure with Netflix. I understand this is just one aspect of this product, and it should not color the whole review; however, the customer expects all aspects of the product to function right down to the indicator light. The Netflix issue was not mentioned in Matt's review. Even if this was not an issue during his review, shouldn't professional integrity force have forced CNET to amend the review, address the issue, and champion the cause for the consumer forcing Panasonic to address the problem. This is what I originally expected and got from CNET.
CNET used to be my first and last internet source to research and compare products. I needed no other. Now, I find the user reviews to be more on point and more accurate than the professional reviewers at CNET. I am forced to double check CNET reviews with other competing sites.
