Great speaker (best of it's kind)
by josh2267 on September 22, 2008
Pros: Accurate, loud, good quality, portable. what else can you ask for in a speeker
of this size.
-Other compaines will have to play catch up!!!!!!Cons: NONE (FOR THE CONCERINS WITH NO REPLACABLE RECHARG BATT) AGAIN
NO ROOM FOR REPLACABLE FOR THIS SIZE. AND NO BIG DEAL) EITHERSummary: First off for your info. I am an audiophile, DJ, computer tech, computer builder, musician, and speaker fixer/builder. Here is my review

-As for this speakers sound (awesome for it's size and using Bluetooth). I tried about 5 speakers and they all well SUCKED. THE SOUNDBLADE, SONY BT OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT BOSE. ETC.... They all sound crapy, not loud at all, no bass,
-again the sound of the M1 was clear very powerful and loud.
-the reason for NO SPEEKER phone is simple. That takes away from the power and quality of the audio. Too much to explain here but that is why. They goal was to make it A LOUD HI END SOUNDING BLUETOOTH SPEAKER FOR PHONE OR IPOD/MP3 PLAYERS.
-As for the (THER IS NO WAY TO REPLACE THE RECHARGABLE BATTEIES) there is a good reason for that. If they did that they would have to
make the unit bigger and (LESS PROTABLE).
-I opened up the unit to check it out. There are 2 big rechargeable batters pressed up both speakers. GOOD QUALITY inside of unit. Again those big batters are needed to get the 28watts and no room to make the batteries replicable (no speaker phone or gadgets to take away for HIFI of the unit.
-The batteries should last about 3 years in my opinion. But there is a 2 year warrantee. You have to give somewhere for smaller with/quality and louder
-I feel it is the best of its kind on the market
-can't wait to see what KLIPSCH can come up with.
-The M1 SHOULD SET THE STANDARD FOR QUALITY OUT OF BLUETOOTH SPEEKERS. OTHER COMPANIES WILL HAVE TO PLAY CATCH UP AND FAST AND GET RID OF THERE ****** SOUNDING SPEEKERS OF THIS KIND.
-WAY TO GO BLUE ANT.2 out of 2 users found this user opinion helpful.

Non-biased review

Pros: Volume, ease of connection, battery life.

Summary: I bought this a few months ago and have loved it since. I use it with my iPhone 3GS. It is perfect to take anywhere in its case that comes with it. I searched a long time for a good wireless speaker for my phone. I am surprised there are not a lot of great options. This is perfect to take to the beach because you can put your phone in a plastic bag and not expose it to sand by keeping it in a dock.
I love it and would buy it again in a heartbeat.
Pros:
The volume of the speaker gets as loud as you want it to be. I do not think I have turned it above half indoors. The bass works really well too. It really displaces a lot of air from the back with the bass boost on.
It's a simple no hassle hook-up. I turn on the speaker and then go into my ipod and it automatically plays from the speaker. Nothing more to say about that.
The battery life is amazing. I will charge it once and use it off and on for a couple of weeks. It probably lasts that long because it does not need to be pumped up.
Cons:
The only thing I can think off to write is that the controls don't work from the speaker itself. The play/pause button, volume knob, and bass boost all work. However, you can not switch to the next song from the speaker. And the volume is controllable only from the speaker. You can do everything from the phone except adjust the volume.1 out of 1 users found this user opinion helpful.

Pros: Portable, Loud enough, good battery life, Excellent control, great case
Cons: Case isn't big enough to carry charger, bass kinda fades as you turn it up

Summary: Sorry Y'all with the IPhones, but this thing is an absolute DEMON with the Moto Droid. All functions work, connected in seconds, and blasted a quality of sound exceeded only by my Bose SoundDock, which will now stay at home with the Ipod because That is too much $$ worth to be leaving out at night at the Marina, and I can take my phone with me back to the boat when I get tired. The party can go on with control right from the unit. Vive Android!!
Seriously, if you want great presence, control from both the phone and the speaker itself, and have a cardboard box or an empty cooler for a bass reflector around and a serious phone, stuff this into the box or cooler and be prepared for audiophile quality from something no bigger than a Vodka bottle! I put it side-by side with the Bose, and though the larger Bose sounded larger, and was MUCH louder, this device punched right through. Midrange presence and high-end are outstanding - dare I say better - although a little tinny with older music - and bass is 'good enough' if set-up as mentioend above. I do that with the Bose anyway, so do it with the M1 - they call it the 'Executive Redneck Boombox'. For half the price of the SoundDock, you don't have to leave $700 worth of stuff lying around.
Onboard control is superior - little distortion even when turned all the way up, forward, previous, and play/pause. I think you will always want the bass boost on. I am not worried about battery life because it will sit running full-blast every weekend for the summer, so I would always use the power supply. Maybe an update will ensue! Just wish they had left room for the charger in the case... I think most people that use this would want it along. Nothing like a case that lets you leave the unit inside - and Neoprene is washable. Doesn't cost you an extra $50 either. Most remotes don't work very well in sunlight or from a distance, so I can see why they left it out. Use your media volume control on your phone to control the M1.
In short, you get what you pay for. If you want Bose, buy Bose. You aren't going to beat the SoundDock except in price. This is an affordable solution that delivers universality, control, and great sound. The BlueAnt M1 is a milestone. -
The BEST of all portable wireless speakers
by naturadamus on August 19, 2009
Pros: Easy to pair with any bluetooth device, rechargeable, AC in, awesome sound quality, long lasting battery for that kind of power, audio line in capability
Cons: You can't control the volume level from your phone, you have to rotate the volume button on the speaker, which plus, is a little bit bulky.

It would have been nice if blueant took the risk to make it a little bit bigger so it could have a bigger battery with more amperes, so the charge would last longer because with this sound quality, you forgot you are running on batteries and you can let yourself go and listen to this too loud, which means less battery time.
