Cons: -Doesn't come with a cable to hook up your phone or tablet, so you
have to use bluetooth.
-Bluetooth range is not as good as it should be.

Summary: All in all, this speaker gets a solid 4 stars. The sound quality alone would put it at a 4.5!
The sound that comes out of this little speaker is quite literally, amazing! You wouldn't expect it to sound as good as it does & as loud as it is! Pitting this against the little Jambox, it's really not a fair fight. The Flip sounds like it has at least 2x's the wattage. It gets loud enough to hurt your ears & it's 99% clear at max volume. A few of the things that bother me about this unit are somewhat minor. 1st off the Bluetooth is in a word, cr@p!
The Jambox definitely kills the Flip in this area. You have to keep your phone or tablet within like 20-25ft or else it cuts out. If you have the Flips volume up & you pause or stop your music from playing, you will hear a popping sound from the speaker every time. ANNOYING! Plus as far as I know, you cannot turn off the beeping noise on the Flip when you turn it on/off. The battery life of 5 hours is blah! It should have at least 10 hours. The chager plug is a simple make adapter that goes into a female when it should be a micro USB. One issue, earlier versions with low serial #'s had 1st generation bluetooth antenna issues. They have since redesigned it & it is better, but not as good as the competition. Check you tube.
I'm making the speaker sound worse than it really is. The small gripes I have with it are my own minor issues. For $99, you won't find a better speaker, period! It will really blow your mind when you hear it!

Fantastic small speaker
by WillBarton on January 26, 2013
Pros: Great, clear, loud sound for a speaker this small. Very easy to connect to multiple devices. Makes the jambox I bought (and returned) sound like absolute rubbish.
Cons: Bluetooth reception ronde to breakup if moving around.

Summary: After the underwhelming (read awful) performance of the jambox, I was very impressed by this product. I can listen to it for extended periods and think it sounds spectacular for it's size. I have a great sounding hifi system (B&W, Arcam, NAD, REL) so I know how to manage my expectations....but this product is great for size and price point.

Super Easy and Very Good
by ericschwartz15 on January 26, 2013
Pros: Setup takes seconds. No bluetooth codes are needed. I paired this speaker with my iPad Mini in about 5 seconds and it sounded much better than I expected.
Cons: $100 seems a bit high, but I actually got this at a sales convention for free. I would actually say that if you spend $100 on this it is worth the money.
Summary: This speaker is portable, easy to set up, sounds great, and does exactly as you would like for your ipad. Two thumbs up!

Summary: I bought the Jawbone Jambox and was not pleased with it because it because it did not sound as good as the JBL Flip and the Jambox does not have any rubber feet on the bottom of the speaker and it has a tendency to move from the vibration of the music and could possibly fall off of a table. I read about the JBL Flip and was very pleased about what I heard. Playing music is clear with no distortion. The speakerphone is wonderful and sounds Crystal Clear.

Summary: I have had the Jambox and I currently have the big Jambox and I have listen many speakers so even I am not an expert I just don't get surprised easily but when you hear this little thing you just can't believe how amazing sounds for a small speaker! The vocals it's the vest part of the speaker but it sounds great with everything! The battery and the AC adapter are very disappointing because the battery it's not enough and I hate that AC adapter but I can't give it less than 5 stars because the sound it's just so amazing for a portable speaker, if I have to change something of the sound it will be a little more bass but, really you have to hear it to know what it's really a good small speaker!
