Extremely good sound in a very portable unit
by EdEllks on July 6, 2011
Pros: Works flawlessly with the iPod Touch 4G where the IMT800 had issues.
Extremely good sound - easily fills a room and then some.
Covers the highs and lows very well, no muddy sound.
Works with any device that has a headphone jack.
Apparently has D/A conve
Cons: Price. Got it 20% off through Altec Lansing's site, but even that was expensive.
If there's an Achilles' heel to this, it's how the power connector attaches internally. My previous iMT800 died because the connector is mounted directly to the main circui

Summary: In a nutshell, if you're looking for incredible sound in a small, portable unit, this is it. My wife uses it to teach fitness classes in a medium-sized room, and people routinely say how good it sounds. A DJ that was in the building came over to see where all the sound was coming from, and just stood and stared at the box because he couldn't believe how good it sounded. It could realistically be used for small-medium sized events if DJ equipment is undesired or overkill.
Some have complained that it doesn't come with a rechargeable battery and doesn't recharge batteries that you have in the unit. If that's the best complaint they can come up with, then you can see just how good this is. Seriously - how often are you away from an A/C plug? For normal use, just plug in the included A/C adapter and you're good to go.
Yes, it's expensive. Very expensive. But once you hear it, the pain of the expense quickly fades.

I see they posted the same review as the IMT800 after my review, with the same terrible information as before. Are they really serious that not having an AM radio, video outputs (these are speakers, people!) or built-in rechargeable batteries knocks a star off? And they rate this an 8/10 on performance - I'd LOVE to see what they say is a 9 or 10 at this size and price.

Small unit, BIG sound!
by designeranne on July 8, 2011
Pros: I bought this boom box on electronicsexpo.com. I gotta say I was a little hesitant to spend $200 (a little less with a coupon code) for an iPhone dock/radio, but since the moment I plugged this bad boy in I never looked back! It has been one of the top te
Cons: A bit pricey...but worth it. Especially if you listen to music often.
