  Good sound for the price but marginal FM reception

  Pros: Very good sound for a $46 plastic box
  One of the few ipod clock radios that easily supports a shuffle
  Nice adjustable light on the clock, dimmest setting is dim enough to sleep
  Big snooze bar
  Easy to set up and easy to change

  Cons: Marginal FM reception, I can't get my favorite FM station that I can get on every other radio I own.
  Buttons are all the same size and shape. Nothing to distinguish between them groping in the dark until you learn and memorize the button pattern.

  Summary: Very good sound from the ipod or from those stations that come in. The ipod shuffle support is very good since I can plug in a small shuffle rather than risk knocking the full-size ipod off the cradle during less lucid mornings. Marginal FM reception in some instances. Disappointed that I can't get may favorite radio station that I can get on every other radio, including the cheap 17 year old Sony DreamMachine this replaced. Unless I find a way to get better reception the DreamMachine may come out of the guest room and back on the nightstand and the i177 this may go into the basement to use to listen to NPR while doing laundry on the weekend.

  Summary: This is a great accessory for the iPod. It has above average sound quality, but not perfect. It has a BASIC remote. You can dim the back light. It has an AM/FM radio built into it. You can plug in your portable cd players, other mp3 players, and non-supported iPods into it and listen to them via the line in port located in the rear. Overall this is a great product, but not absolutely PERFECT. It will fit most users needs, though.
