Looks Good but consistently fails when we need it most!
by wcs60 on November 23, 2010
Pros: Well...it looks pretty and make some neat sounds when it works.
Cons: I also have the same F9 error, they replace the thermostats and its ok for a while. I cant bring myself to pay 200.00+ for a repair when its a 7.00 part thats failing due to a very poor design. I will fix it myself

Summary: Its 2 days before Thanksgiving, you know one of the few times we really need both oven and the good old F9 error has popped up again. I am having 2 thermostats sent overnight so the 14.00 parts are costing almost 60.00! Hopefully they arrive in time and we can cook for everyone.

My oven has a self cleaning problem. Fails each time.
by Responsible_Buyer on October 31, 2010
Pros: Potential to be a good product if problems are fixed.
Cons: Does not function properly after self cleaning. Too expensive not to work as advertised.
Summary: I have had 4 failures in the 6 months that I have owned the oven. Each failure was a result of using the self cleaning cycle.

After a self cleaning the oven will give you a F9 error and lock up. Twice it has even lost all power due to a computer malfunction.
Each time the technician just changes out a few thermostats. This allows the oven to work but will fail 100% of the time if I
do another self cleaning. LG has a design problem here but I can get no support from the company. LG won't replace the oven
because they state that it is "repairable". Its a very expensive oven and should work as designed. Buy at your own risk.1 out of 1 users found this user opinion helpful.

Poor component selection for construction.
by dcbpower on February 2, 2013
Pros: A nice number of features when it works.
Cons: Poor pre-sales testing!

Summary: Before you try to fix this keep in mind you can damage the wires if you pull on them too hard, most connector have a lock on them that requires you to push or pull something before removing the wire(s).
The Self Cleaning option overheats the main board behind the control panel. The connectors going to the display for the burners and the buttons lose proper contact. After having the main board replaced it worked until the next self cleaning. After complete disassemble and inspection the fault was narrowed down to where the front panel plugs into the main board. The plastic on the connectors is softened during the self cleaning cycle and the metal parts seem to be softened and possibly oxidized. Repeated reinsertion of the connectors solved the problem intermittently. A second attempt was successful after all connectors were unplugged and sprayed with silicone spray. I used a 3% silicone spray normally used for plastic molding machines but any electronic silicone spray should work. Remember to unplug the stove and let it sit for a while so you don't zap yourself or the circuit boards. If you can raise the humidity in the room you lower the chance of static electricity damaging the electronics while you handle them. Lots of screws to remove as you have to take all panels off the back of the stove. You don't need to unscrew any other parts, just the back covers. (Electrical, Bottom & Top) Good luck :-)
Perhaps this has been fixed by now, but if you are having the problem you can call them and see if they cover it or you can do it your self iv you are good with small connectors. -
This is the worst oven I have ever purchased.
by chrismeade1 on December 28, 2012
Pros: Looks pretty
Cons: Every time I use the clean cycle, I get an F9 error. They replace the thermostat and then it works until I clean it again. LG will not do anything, so I am taking the matter up with Home Depot. I am asking for a replacement oven that is NOT LG.

Summary: We bought all LG appliances for our new home and THOUGHT we were getting high quality stuff. The front panel of the microwave oven came off within 1 month and it now sticking to the oven with double back tape!!! Our refrigerator water dispenser works and then quits working. It has been repaired 3 times. I now have NO ovens because I used both over Christmas and cleaned them. Got a F9 error on the top oven and a F19 error on the bottom oven. These ovens are junk---do NOT buy anything from LG.

Love it when it works - hate f9 code
by princess-dohemi on August 18, 2012
Pros: Love having 2 ovens. Convenient especially around holidays.
Cons: F9 code - neither will work.
Summary: Don't buy until they get the f9 problem worked out.

Poor quality
by mikehorrocks on September 3, 2011
Pros: Looks nice, user friendly menu is easy to understand
Cons: I have the same F9 error everyone else gets with this unit. If you use the self clean cycle it disables it and you have to have it serviced. Also the racks on the bottom unit dont fit tight enough to stay on the rails and will dump your food if you are

Looks good, to bad it never works!
by Klala2011 on August 26, 2011
Pros: Looks good.
Cons: I have had to have my LG oven serviced multiple times for an F9 error since purchasing just a little over a year ago! And its never just a single visit, it takes multiple visits to diagnose, get the right part, install. If it happens again I may have ha
Summary: I could not recommend this oven to a friend. It's a shame there isn't a "lemon law" for appliances, because this would definitely qualify.
