Cons: The graphics are hideous. Can not turn them off. Every few minutes the knob flashes blue to red to blue. Got stuck for 2 1/2 hours driving at night. If I could of I would of stopped and pulled the fuse. This thing must of been designed by some kid with pu

Sony delivers a head unit that is right on time.
by mikejadotcom on August 27, 2010
Pros: Installation in my 2001 Crown Vic was simple. Took me 30 minutes to install and setup my personal eq settings.I currently use a older generation sony walkman unit that has a male usb on the end connects and works with the unit with no issues.
Cons: Display does contain large font and is kind of old school looking but it does read out the info on my mp3s and tag music of fm radio as well.

Summary: This is a perfect buy for anyone who has an ipod , walkman , or large usb loaded w music who doesn't want to carry around a cd case full of there favorite albums. Other units of the same concept run $100 more on up so for the price it is an awesome value. Sound quality surprised me since im used to pioneer sound in my other vehicle but it came REALLY close.. DMplus option brings out even low quality mps sound quality up as if they were never compressed. Tray is big enough to accommodate and ipod classic or ipod touch by the way. I once knocked sony on there head unit quality ... I will never again...

Cons: The blue back-lighting on the buttons is extremely bright with no apparent way of dimming them. I've found it to be distracting while driving at night.

The DSX-S100 eliminates the need to run obnoxious cables through your center console for your iPod. It also creates a hidden compartment to hide the iPod from plain site. And it's priced very fair at $150. I highly recommend picking this up for yourself.

Summary: I'm very suprised sony overlooked this simple feature. Anyone with an iphone should wait until the next generation when i'm sure it will be corrected. I love the idea of a clean look in the vehicle but it is not practical for iphone owners who would like to use their iphone while driving.
