I love the USB input, which I've fed through a hole into the pocket underneath the unit. You can also feed it into the glovebox, where you can keep it attached to a USB drive. with MP3, WMA or ACC(!) encoded files. ID3 info shows up on the display.
What sets this unit apart is the AC-Drive feature. When you burn a CD or load up a USB drive using the included Phatnoise (PMM) Software, a nice female voice prompts you the names of the folders as you scroll through! PMM is set up to look a bit like iTunes and is easy enough to use. I love being able to search through music without taking my eyes off the road to read an 8 character display. This feature alone makes the deal for me.
The sound quality is also excellent from this higher end unit. The circuitry in Kenwood's Excelon line is supposed to be superior, and this unit has a 24-bit DA converter. Kenwood backs the unit with a 2-year warranty (as compared to typical 1-year).
I also have the optional AUX input adapter, and so I can play my ipod through the headphone output as well.
So far the cons: - Flip down face seems a bit flimsy, although I feel this way about most in this price range. But hey, if it breaks within 2 years i've got the warranty! - I've read on reviews that the USB input is limited to 4.5GB drives or less. This is not in Kenwoods documentation, so I don't know.

Summary: I bought this along with the interface for IPODs and it's been a complete disaster! The instruction manual could not be worse if Kenwood tried! Navigating music on the Ipod is a lesson in futility at best. The instructions in the manual are of no help whatsoever and do not correlate with the way the head unit works. Because of this I'm frequently stuck listening to the same few songs or folders on the IPOD over and over as opposed to having access to all 974 songs I have on it. (And yes, the repeat function is OFF!) This unit is so poor with the Ipod that I'm considering ripping it out and putting in a unit by Sony that will allow me full, logical and reasonable access to my Ipod. Buy at your own risk.
