Pros: Clearly announces directions. Properly reacts when directions are not followed. Very visible display. Fairly good menu navigation (no pun intended). 3D, 2D (top and north).
Cons: Does not display the name of the street you are currently driving on.
Rarely displays the names of the streets you are crossing.
Some freeway exits don?t even show up on the display at all.
Summary: I don't want to just follow the spoken directions (which are quite good). I like to know what street I'm currently driving on and what streets I'm ...
Summary: I don't want to just follow the spoken directions (which are quite good). I like to know what street I'm currently driving on and what streets I'm crossing. The 275T does not display the name of the street you are driving on and only rarely displays the names of the streets you are crossing. There is no rhyme or reason to this. Some tiny little streets are displayed with their name while major roads, like highways and boulevards, show up without the name displayed. Even the streets you are to turn on (when following the spoken directions) don't show up with street names.
Why would anybody want a GPS that doesn't display the names of streets you are on or are crossing? Changing the amount of detail displayed on the maps does not correct these problems.

Since my first review, I've taken the unit to Europe where its performance was far worse than in the states. Satellite acquisition was a tremendous problem as was its constant revising of driving directions. Finding destinations was near impossible, forcing me to resort to using Microsoft Map Point on a laptop and then manually entering longitude and latitude into the GPS. When entering a destination, you must get the spelling EXACT. Even then, it likely will not be able to find it. When a destination is entered, the GPS always says "Continue to XYZ street" with no clue where that street is or in which direction I must move to get there. If I was fortunate enough to stumble onto XYZ street the GPS gave no indication of whether I should turn left or right. Again, the total lack of displaying street names really made navigation difficult. In many cases, I simply shut the unit off and asked people for directions.
