Great gadget for the price, if you are a gadget person

Summary: This GPS works great, but you have to be willing and able to dive in and 'play' with it to find out where all the functions are and how to get to them. there is a decent built in tutorial, but the 'quick start' guide is all the user documentation you're gonna get!
I installed the "software" which is only a 'skin' for a web browser that opens their webpage. The user manual actually isn't on the CD. I registered and got confirmation, then selected my product and searched for the user's manual. A table with various documents came up. When I selected the user's manual link, a new small window (nope, NOT resizeable, which makes it really inconvenient). I then had to log in again in this window, and select my product again, and guess what came up? That's right, the SAME table! Can you say endless loop?
Eventually I got the manual downloaded. It consisted entirely of product advertisements, warranty, and registration information. Absolutely NO information on how to actually USE the thing.
That caused major frustration, but as I said, the functionality is very good for the price. A basic GPS with compass, speed indication, 2D or 3D maps, and spoken street names. You just have to 'experiment' to find out how everything works, though it does not take too long.3 out of 3 users found this user opinion helpful.

Best GPS under $200
by gej73 on July 24, 2008
Pros: Accuracy, Speed, Ease of Use
Cons: Doesn't have the frills of the higher priced GPS's

Summary: I've read many reviews on this. Yes it doesn't have the frills of an MP3, Blue tooth, can't change your character from a triangle to a car, truck or person. If you want that than pay the money. The Moov 200 is very quick with the menu's, maps, re-calculating routes etc. Very easy to use. Of course it might not take you the same way you take back roads home, but it gets you where you need to. Remember there are many routes to take. It can only calculate what it know. I am extremely happy with this purchase.

Nice GPS for a nice price!
by resq330 on July 21, 2008
Pros: All touch screen, comes ready out of the box, SD slot in side, can be portable after charging. Has a very large preference section. Nice size screen. PLENTY of POI's.
Cons: Missing some new roads on my first trip to Myrtle Beach. If you could add roads and routes as you go, that would be great. Could use some better voices.
Summary: Like the fact that you can click the DTG icon and it will show you DTG, ETA, speed, current time, and TTG. All this seems very accurate. Like the different ...
Summary: Like the fact that you can click the DTG icon and it will show you DTG, ETA, speed, current time, and TTG. All this seems very accurate. Like the different views you can choose from the map screen. 3d, 2d, and step by step route. Didn't hear the last command, just simply click the top left direction icon and it will announce it again. You can also mute the voice from the map screen. You can also select shortest time or distance or somewhere in between. All in all a very good little GPS for the price you pay!

Great price on a GPS with text-to-speech!
by ghvz1 on October 29, 2008
Pros: Text-to-speech (i.e. it will say "In one third of a mile, turn right onto Fry Road"); 3 million POIs; very loud; easy to read screen. Give route options onscreen as you drive.
Cons: Old maps of my area (Houston, TX) and no estimate from Mio on when updated maps would be available. Small onscreen keyboard.
Summary: The map thing is a bummer. The unit showed me driving off road where roads have existed for 1-2 years. New freeway exits also do not show up. However, I ...
Summary: The map thing is a bummer. The unit showed me driving off road where roads have existed for 1-2 years. New freeway exits also do not show up. However, I have had this problem with several GPS devices, but all the others updated their maps more quickly. However, I can say that even with old maps, this unit got me from point A to point B just fine.
UPDATE: Mio has announced a FREE updated map.
Like all GPS's, this has some weird routes. I will have to "play" with it to determine if my options are responsible. Thanks to the lack of a manual, I will have to go through the tutorial to figure out all the options.
I suggest having a stylus handy for the onscreen keyboard.
I would also pay more for real-time traffic.
Overall, I give this a 4 out of 5 stars as I find the text-to-speech indispensible. I find I prefer listening to instructions instead of reading a map. I also know all GPS devices have their limitations and issues, so I'd rather pay $100 (after rebates at Staples) than $200 or $300.

A great GPS for a great price!
by ktaylor06 on April 8, 2009
Pros: This product was simple to use right out of the box. I had absolutely no problems setting my preferences.
Cons: I haven't found anything that I do not like about this product.

Summary: I am a first time GPS user and found this to be simple to use. I wanted a GPS, not anything else like an MP3 player included. This GPS does what it's supposed to. I'm disappointed that it didn't rank higher on the list of "easy to use", but since it isn't a Garmin, I am not surprised. Mio is a spectacular, but unknown to most, product.

Inexpensive, accurate, updatable,
by craiger45 on October 6, 2008
Pros: I have had the 200 for about two months now and have used it in my 18 wheeler. I picked this model because other reviews said the speech was loud, and since it is very noisy inside the cab of a big truck I needed a GPS I could hear. This works great.
Cons: No cons I can think of.
Summary: I have had a great time using this GPS. It has found me new ways to get places I didn't know about. It's loaded with features more expensive ...
