Bang for the Buck...
by CorkyMuldoon on July 1, 2005
Pros: Intuitive interface & easy setup
Cons: Sometimes takes a while to lock onto the GPS Satty.
Summary: This is the first GPS I've owned & used (except those I've used in rental cars).

Summary: This is the first GPS I've owned & used (except those I've used in rental cars).
I've only owned this unit for a few days, but I find I'm very impressed with its operation.
External SD/MMC memory is a must for installing maps. Onboard memory is pretty stingy (32MB) and will only store 1-2 maps tops - not good for interstate GPS-assisted travel.
The unit has taken its time on a few occasions locking onto the GPS satellite, but otherwise system performance has been VERY good.

Great GPS, especially for the price
by on February 24, 2005
Pros: Nice big screen, lots of available memory with SD card, route calculation is fast, very fast and stable satellite acquisition. My experience with acquisition is opposite of other poster who said 2-3 minutes. Rarely takes more than a few seconds, sometimes
Cons: Routing decisions are very questionable. Going north from my house it has me going south on the interstate for two exits, then making a u-turn. Does this repeatedly. Biggest complaint is the software. It is map loading only. Even the custom POI does not

Very pleased, strong signal, great software
by on February 4, 2005
Pros: Signal rarely drops, and when it does, it comes right back. Re-routing works very good Maps are extremely accurate (Orange County/Los Angeles areas) Easy to understand voice instructions Seems VERY smart overall. I could not be more pleased with it.
Cons: Menus take a little getting used to Typing in addresses isn't always the easiest, but you shouldn't be doing that when you're driving anyhow.

The unit is small and cost less.
by on January 23, 2005
Pros: Small pocket size. It can carry into your pocket.
Cons: Take 30 minutes or more to download all west coast maps to the unit. Lost signal easily especially after it automatacilly turn off. It could not re-route after I missed the turn in Los Angles area. Wrong street major name in front of my house. Lack of

Big Color Screen, Bad Mapping SW
by on January 12, 2005
Pros: 1. Large 3.5 x 3.5 inch screen 2. Easy to use 3. Cool 3-D navigation software 4. History page for tracking where you've been.
Cons: 1. Many streets that have been around for over 4 years aren't in mapping software. 2. POIs are not always in correct location. 3. Lacks the detail of Garmin.

Good first GPS for the price
by on January 12, 2005
Pros: Small and portable, lowest price ($350), clear view, good window mount, recalculates route quickly. The best (only?) buy for the money if you want to get a portable color unit for under $400. Cons listed below are probably typical of GPS systems.
Cons: Routing sometimes is questionable even when I played with the settings (down a street with 7 stop signs verses a slightly longer route with only 2 stop signs), no alternative to suction cup window mount (at least not included), some streets could not be f
