  A fashionable bag with some fatal flaws

  Pros: Very simplistic, yet also eye-catching and unique. Great interior color.

  Cons: It's quite pricey for such a small backpack. The main zipper will be a pain to open and close because of it's odd/unique shape. The shoulder straps are rather short and oddly placed a couple inches below the zipper opening. Can't carry that much.

  Summary: I'm a college student and I've been in the market for a new backpack for a while. The Booq Boa Squeeze first caught my eye as Editor's Choice on CNET, and I really liked the overall form and color of the product. However there's not much coverage of the Booq Boa Squeeze from other product review websites, not much at all. This laptop bag could only fit a laptop, maybe 3 or 4 small composition notebooks, some writing utensils, and that's about it. Don't expect to fit any textbooks inside, unless you want to swap out the laptop. The side cup holders can't fit a water bottle; it can barely fit my small rolled-up umbrella. The backpack is fairly sized lengthwise, but it really is a "squeeze" on the width. It might look a little awkward when you try putting it on while wearing a heavy winter coat.
  
  The straps attached to the back a couple inches below the opening and there's like a piece of cardboard inside the back layer, which makes the boa squeeze unable to conform to the curvature of the human backbone and thus making it protrude off your back with a little gap at the top.
  
  This might be a manufacturing flaw, but the left side pocket is somewhat useless because the cardboard in the back layer pushed out the left side, so any slip of paper I put in one of the pockets will end up bent over time like it's been rolled up. The right side is fine though.
  
  The middle zipper down the center is hard to use because it doesn't open up very much to put a book-shaped object in it. Imagine one of those coin purses that just has a slit to put coins in and you take out the coins by squeezing the sides and opening the slit up. The booq boa squeeze slit it like that, except you cant push the sides to open the slit up, so you kind of have to just wrangle free whatever you put inside.
  
  I think the interior pockets have great color, and whoever chose the colors has a great fashion sense and should get promoted. But I don't like the cheap velcro for the pockets, some magnets would be better and more easier to open/close.
  
  The main zipper is oddly shaped. I don't think it "peels open" like how the video review states, it opens more like the mouth of a hippopotamus. It's even shaped like the mouth of a hippo when open! I would've really like to put all my writing utensils in the zipper pocket right below the teralinq thing, but the zipper pocket extends all the way down the length of the bag. That's a bit far down to reach for a pencil, so I guess I'll stick with the side pocket.
  
  The so called "ipod" pockets on the straps are definitly too small. I can't fit my Zune HD in it because it narrows as it nears the end of the strap.
  
  Overall I think the bag is good, even with all the shortcoming I just talked about. I don't have buyers remorse yet, but the backpack has a lot of impractical flaws which I'm sure will get annoying. It would look great on me if I had a perfectly straight back and a smaller body frame. I don't think it's worth $100, maybe $50-60. I like that it's waterproof though. But I don't think it deserves an Editor's Choice Award.

  Pros: Tons of storage
  Small profile
  Design - not just another black bag

  Cons: Zippers are hard to work
  Straps could be longer to accomidate taller people
  Pocket on straps are almost too small for my Droid X

  Summary: I really like this bag. I'll probably like it even more when the zippers get broke in and I find useable items to store in all of the pockets. Padding on the back is great and detachable key fob in the side pocket was a nice surprise.
