What a deal!

Pros:
Cons:
Summary: For a $164 I doubt you could find a single draw CD player never mind a 300 disc machine that sounds better! One of the best purchases I've made.

Summary: This is a great CD player that will change your life. Invest one night of filing your CDs in and naming them and you will enjoy a jukebox that can play hours and hours of music and never stop (it can contain 300 CDs).
I find that CD quality continues to be better than ITune and this allows to create your own categories so that you can set the tone and stay within that category of CDs (e.g. jazz). I love it because when you have a large collection you start forgetting CDs you have and tend to play the same dozen last you bought. This will help you find treasures your forgot about...

Pros: price, simplicity, keyboard title input.
Cons: I had an old model of the same series and it jammed often. Disc titles only accept 13 characters.

Summary: This is a nice unit but sometimes it gets lost looking for the next song when on random shuffle. You have to cycle power to correct the problem.

Disappointed in the desert, third time is not a charm
by gsholer on November 15, 2008
Pros: The eight groups are easy to set up and you can assign one or 300 to the group. This is a great feature. I have own ed several carosuel CD players in the past and they tend to have more problems than all other CD players
Cons: I am on my 3rd player in one week due to mechanical alignment probs with unit 1, then unit 2 had trouble reading disk and got lost during shuttle mode, unit 3 clatters and doesn't read several disc, maybe 4th unit will be a charm. (:-(
Summary: It appears Sony quit performing any QA/QC on finiished products. I have purchased three seperate CDP-CX355 CD Players in one week and in an effort to get one properly ...

Summary: It appears Sony quit performing any QA/QC on finiished products. I have purchased three seperate CDP-CX355 CD Players in one week and in an effort to get one properly playing unit. No Luck yet. I made sure each unit was from a different "batch" so that it might lessen the chance of getting a lemon but all three have problems. Its time consuming to load these players and set them up only to unload and have to return them. I am a persistent person so I will give it another try before asking for my money back and buyiing a Pioneer player.

Summary: This player is great doing what it does but it is difficult to program. YOu have to input each disk in order to set up any program. If you want to play disk 2, 8, 33,59 and you must set them up mechanically. one disk at a time. I would have preferred a software statement where I put in disks 2,8,33, 59 and just hit the button for program 1. That is not how this one works. I am happy with its performance I just wish it had better software. I just finished mechanically labeling 300 disks and it causes me pain to do what someone else should have figured out before me. To set 8 groups will be at least two buttons per disk to push. A lot of dumb work.

This unit sucks!
by harrison55 on March 8, 2007
Pros: none - don't buy this thing
Cons: Skips, skips, and skips some more.
Summary: THis unit skips on nearly every disk I own. Brand new, it won't play disks that play just fine on a 15-year-old Sony changer.

complete piece of junk
by bellhog on December 17, 2006
Pros: holds your entire collection
Cons: but you can't play them
Summary: Biggest waste of money ever. Skips on every cd I own, including brand new ones. Unit is physically too big to fit in standard A/V cabinets. Horrible purchase.
