The good: The Casio G'zOne Ravine 2 has a durable build that should withstand a lot of abuse. Call quality is admirable and the navigation controls are spacious and easy to use.
The bad: The Ravine 2 has a 2.5mm headset jack, and its photo quality is subpar.
The bottom line: The Casio G'zOne continues Casio's long tradition of ultrarugged phones with the bonus of improved call quality.

Summary: Ringtone not as loud as previous phones.I would say It's @ least 5 Decibels less. Also my previous phone would repeat the person who called me every time along with the Ringtone. This 1 only says the Name Once. Casio seems to be Downgrading the quality of there phones when in this day in age you should be Improving on your product. On my former Ravine when i had to charge my phone as well as the other Ports that I tried 2 open such as headset,etc.. I would have to use a butter knife to open them. Now with this 1 I can use my fingers to open It & I have no finger nails & there used to be a good orange or red seal on them. Now I don't see them on this phone. Not so sure that this phone will be as waterproof as my previous phones from Casio. These Casio phones are Rugged & Durable as advertised. This is the only phone that I will buy because of It's toughness to stand up to a lot of things. I will however call Casio to Complain about there latest version because In my Opinion this Ravine 2 has taken 2 steps back. If they don't Improve on there next version i will never buy another 1 of there phones again. Also the Hinge on this phone looks kind of cheaply designed. It looks like a Spiral Binder that you would see on a notebook. I haven't tried the Camera yet. But I'm not using this phone 2 take Top Notch Photos!

Returned within two hours because it is much too loud.
by JennaH81 on April 26, 2012
Pros: Supposedly reasonably sturdy, though it felt like cheap plastic.
Cons: $$$$$ for what you get.
Summary: Don't bother. If you don't want a Smart phone, buy a cheaper one for a fraction of the price and expect to replace it in 6 months. You'...
Summary: Don't bother. If you don't want a Smart phone, buy a cheaper one for a fraction of the price and expect to replace it in 6 months. You'll still come out ahead, and you won't be partially deafened. Also: you'll be charged a $35 restocking fee, so it's worth asking to use one of the demos under actual conditions (NOT in the loud Verizon store) to make sure it sounds okay to you.

Wonderful phone with minor disappointments
by violinp on March 9, 2012
Pros: It's durable while being easy to read and plug in information. It works well while looking beautiful and sleek. It charges fast - 1 bar to full power in less than an hour. It takes decent photos.
Cons: It's a bit awkward to open, and the texting is slower than I would like.
Summary: I have never liked touchscreen phones - they drive me crazy and I'm always afraid of cracking. However, I also don't want a clunker of a phone that ...
Summary: I have never liked touchscreen phones - they drive me crazy and I'm always afraid of cracking. However, I also don't want a clunker of a phone that makes me feel really old - I'm only in my 20's! When I was looking at phones for my birthday, this phone caught my eye. It was modern - looking, but also a durable flip phone! I was thrilled!
My old phone was a basic camera phone with a pretty awful camera, at times-questionable audio, and just plain ugly. The G'zOne Ravine 2 is lightyears better in every way - the tools, etc. are intuitively placed, the photos are great for a camera phone, and it was as sleek and durable as it looked on the internet.
However, I have two minor complaints. I'm a woman with somewhat tiny hands, and I found opening it at first to be really awkward. I finally figured it out, but it's a bit of a learning curve. Also, the typing time is almost as slow as my old phone - you have wait a few seconds if you want to type letters on the same number in, which is a mite frstrating when typing in everyone's contact information.
I won't comment on the GPS and the like features, because I don't use them, and they're not why I got the phone.
I think the Casio G'zOne Ravine 2 is a great phone if you are in need of a sleek looking phone that works excellently, but it has some minor drawbacks. -

Summary: The upgrade of the hated phone! I didn't much like the first Ravine. I thought it honestly had too many glitches, it shut off, and froze up. I mean it was durable, but not software-wise. Well, this one changes it. My father purchased this phone when his Pantech Jest was starting to break apart on him as he is kind of tough on phones. It has proven to be an excellent performer, you can drop it tons, and even get it wet and not have a bit of issues. A really superb phon
