The good: The Kyocera Loft offers a fair number of messaging options and a user-friendly interface. You also get Bluetooth and voice dialing.
The bad: The Kyocera Loft's phone book only offers caller ID for groups and call quality had some static. Its headset jack is 2.5mm, and its keyboard feels cramped.
The bottom line: If you don't mind the keyboard and the occasional static during calls the Kyocera Loft is an accessible and functional messaging phone for Virgin Mobile.
Great at first, but then you find its a dud...

Pros: Mobile web, qwerty keyboard, decent pictures.
Cons: Awful battery life, letters are rubbing off, poor call sound quality, slow.

Summary: I bought this phone, nine months ago, and in that short period of time it has become a waist of money. The battery hardly lasts a day of moderate use. After three months of having the phone the letters have begun to rub off the keys. The mobile web is kind of useless aside from checking facebook. The phone has a very slow OS and it sounds like you are talking into a tin can if you have anything less than a perfect signal.
Save your money!

Summary: This is the crappiest phone I have ever gotten. The phone randomly texts people without your knowledge or authorization to different people in your area code and even outside the area code of where the phone was activated at. When you turn off the phone for the night to charge, the next morning you turn on the phone it just sends out messages! I have so many problems with this phone and Virgin Mobile wont even help you! Trust me save your money on this phone!
Terrible, terrible phone.

Pros: I honestly cannot think of anything good about this phone that you cannot get with any other phone.
Cons: Okay, where to start... It freezes a lot. It takes too long for the buttons to respond. The clock doesn't show up if you don't get service. I have to press buttons 2, sometimes even 3 times for it to respond. Sometimes if you get more than one message at

Not exactly Blackberry, but every bit worth the money!
by drewjokester on March 21, 2011
Pros: Where to start, the apps are the bonus! Opera Mini is like surfing the web on a laptop or desktop computer. Virgin Navigator is comfort and convenient GPS on the go, Google Maps is like having a bird's eye view from a cellular satellite and nice street vi
Cons: Not much to say on this end, but the Qwerty keyboard does take getting use to, but like everything, practice makes perfect, download timing can be slow sometimes for web browsing or google maps, but I've never known any electronic gadget that doesn't requ

Summary: Nice product, you basically get what you pay for. Eveyone's talking about the Loft is like a Blackberry but some of its prominent features don't add up or you can't response to Craig's List ads, come on people! Anytime you hear, like 3,4 or 5G(smart phone) or rule the air with verizon wireless or Android has the hottest and latest cutting edge features is all a clever, bold and sometimes deceptive ad campaign tool to sell you convenience in the palm of your hand with a contractual plan attached to it. Research the phone you want and buy it based on what appeals to you individually, not because expensive marketing ads or even sales rep hypnotized you into buying it through slick persuasion. All that aside, the Kyocera Loft S2300 was worth it and I'm not dissappointed, if you want streaming video and MP3 features, get a I-POD!
Frustrating, slow, annoying phone that breaks quickly
by Barnsie_Bear on March 19, 2011
Pros: It's cheap and does some limited email and limited web browsing.
Cons: Email is limited to 1 Gmail, 1 Yahoo, 1 MSN, 1 AOL and 1 POP 3 email account. Hardly useful if you have several accounts. It's very slow with just about everything. Web browsing it often won't find a server to run off.
Summary: I bought mine 2 - 3 months ago. It has just started slipping into email mode every 30 seconds and beeping to alert me it's stuck in email mode. ...
Summary: I bought mine 2 - 3 months ago. It has just started slipping into email mode every 30 seconds and beeping to alert me it's stuck in email mode. I get it out of email mode and it;s fine for 30 seconds then it goes back in, It started doing it today and has been doing it all day. I'm at the point now where I will happily take it to the rifle range as a target. Don't buy this piece of junk. There is no fix for the problem.
so far so good... it's a baby Blackberry

Great basic web phone, affordable <3
Pros: I can access my email, social sites and surf the web without feeling like a fool for paying hundreds for it. I downgraded from a BB to this..I'm happy
Cons: I had a BB first so tough to follow, I loved my BB just had to cut down my monthly spending. It's no super "appy" thing (downloads and apps are avail) but, its still a great phone! I need longer batt life as well.
Summary: I love pay as you go everything, great for teens and those on a budget. I found it easy to use, and although some of the apps were hard to ...
Summary: I love pay as you go everything, great for teens and those on a budget. I found it easy to use, and although some of the apps were hard to find and hard to log into once I found them I did find them and worked it out. I love the phone it fits my pocket and my lifestyle. I can still take (ok looking) pics (no flash) and upload to my FB, and Twiiter and other accounts its super cool.
Wanted a simple low cost way to view emails
by lumix123 on January 27, 2011
Pros: Phone was in a small package. I just need it only for 3 months of the year for email and text. Low cost plan from Virgin Mobile seemed attractive.
Cons: Difficult to navigate. Virgin Mobile customer friendly and kept resetting the phone but couldn't walk me through a setup to get started. No written instructions. Can't get a response from any Craigslist inquiries from ads that I place.
Summary: Serial number of phone wasn't registered with Virgin Mobile. Took a week to get customer service to fix the problem after going back to Sprint retailer who said the ...
Summary: Serial number of phone wasn't registered with Virgin Mobile. Took a week to get customer service to fix the problem after going back to Sprint retailer who said the phone was not returnable. Getting the phone to activate took 3 days after that. Will have to eat the purchase cost and monthly fees paid in advance and go looking for something else.
