The cheapest touchscreen phone on the market!
by katyreviews on January 10, 2009
Pros: Touchscreen, 3.0 mp camera, radio, qwerty keyboard, handwriting recognition, mp3, widgets, shake recognition in games, ringtones and message tones that come with it, free screen protector with it
Cons: qwerty keyboard slow to come up when you turn the phone on texts mode, camera doesn't have flash or autofocus, internal memory
Summary: A simple and cheap touchscreen phone: I've only had this phone for a day, and already I am completely used to it!

This is a phone for pretty much anyone, and it's such a technical phone in the way of having a touchscreen, but it has that simplicity that everyone is looking for in a phone.
Let's start with the basics: this is a very slim phone, so it feels nice to hold, and it slips easily into your pocket or bag. It is probably the sleekest and slimmest touchscreen phone as well as cheapest! It's also very attractive.
The first time you turn the phone on, it starts to show you little videos of how to use it, which is extremely useful for people who aren't good with technology.
Then you get to the main screen, which is gorgeous, because you can pick any pretty wallpaper you like for the front of it, (I know, just like any other phone, but it always amazes me how lovely the main screen of a phone can look!) and you can also add 'widgets'.
If you don't know what they are, they're basically little things you add to the front of the screen - like a clock, a calender, even a radio, so it's right there in front of your eyes all the time. You can even add a cute little post-it note on and write a memo so you don't forget something important! Already, I've found this so useful.
Going onto the main menu, there is so much to do.
For instance...
THE CAMERA;
it's not a bad camera, 3.0mp is better than an average phone camera which is 1.3mp! The camera on the LG cookie admittedly doesn't live up to that of the LG Renoir or some other LG phones which have 8mp cameras.
But it still isn't something to complain about! What you MIGHT complain about however is not the megapixels, but is in fact the flash...because this doesn't have one.
I know, it gets annoying when you want to take a picture in poor light, and it doesn't show up on the screen because you don't have a flash on it.
This doesn't bother me so much as I already own two very high standard digital cameras, but for other people it could be a really big set-back on the cookie.
THE GAMES;
there are some fun little games to play. Not all of them are that interesting or hugely up to scratch, but The Pipe Game is a fun one. and I like how they are all very interactive due to the touch screen and the shake sensor.
MP3 PLAYER;
the built-in memory on the cookie isn't as good as I hoped, but if you get a memory card, this MP3 player is pretty good! The headphones plug straight into the phone unlike some phone headphones.
The mp3 player is set out so nicely - you can choose whether you want to browse your music by artist, albums, genres, playlists, recently played, or even shuffle which is always fun! This is a great music player and I'm also really impressed with the good quality sound - including on the radio which I love on this phone!
So now, let's talk about what phones are REALLY for.
CALLING:
It's so easy to call - the phonebook is really easy to use, and all you need to do is press the green button next to someones name on the phonebook, and it phones them just like that. Quick and easy, no need for a fuss!
TEXTING:
Personally, I love texting on touch screen phones. You have a large choice of how you do it, so you can do whatever is easiest, fastest and just the most fun for you!
You can use the qwerty keyboard, which you NEED to use with the stylus because the keys are so small so you can't do this with your fingers. But the keyboard is a really good way of texting, and it's so different from non-touchscreen phones that it's really fun.
OR you can just do it on predictive text or abc text, just like an ordinary phone, tapping on the keys. This can be easy and quick too.
OR if you want to have loads of fun, you can use the handwriting tool, where you draw a letter with your stylus and it types it! This can be really fun, and if you're precise with your handwriting then it can be easy too, but I don't think it's the quickest way to do it and not really the easiest, because it mistakes what you write for something else a lot, so you end up with a load of gobbeldygook on the screen that doesn't make sense!
But, it's always good to have a selection of ways to text, and so much fun too:)
The only thing I don't like about texting on this phone is that when you go on the message, and you turn your phone horizontally (which is how the keyboard is supposed to automatically come up) it takes a long time for it to happen sometimes.
It can be really annoying!
SO: all in all, I've shown you my love for this phone.
It has faults, like any other phone, but if you can get around those faults, this is a dream phone for you:) XXXX7 out of 7 users found this user opinion helpful.

Best Touch Screen for the Philippine Market
by ajbabao on April 3, 2009
Pros: very lightweight, easy to text due to a very responsive touch screen, non sluggish OS. easy to call in dire emergencies due to it's simple, straightforward interface. battery life is above average if you just call and text
Cons: camera should have had a flash built in to it, headphones should have been more comfortable on the ear buds. No 3G and no wifi.. who cares..

Summary: If your like me and you don't care if Wifi is a necessity and just call or text people on the go, listen to Mp3's and having fun with the 3 mega pixel basic camera and just use the phone for business trips and have no need for video conferencing and 3G and want the best touch screen unit available at an affordable price. This is the Phone to beat.. simple, lightweight go anywhere touch screen phone.
Be very afraid IpHone,Nokia,HTC and Sony Ericsson. This will be your best adversary in the touch screen arena. You won't be able to match it's rapid and sensitive touch screen.4 out of 5 users found this user opinion helpful.

Slow and featureless
by vonlogik on August 7, 2010
Pros: I'm drawing a blank here
Cons: Very slow and unresponsive, almost no features, low battery life
Summary: Very disappointing. I just went back to my old phone. Do not waste your money on this knock off. LG makes some great electronics but apparently this excludes phones.

Summary: I really like this phone because it was very easy to handle. A day of using it and I had already discovered how to use it perfectly. The music comes out REALLY loud. With, and without headphones. The headphones are okay but hurt quite a bit if you wear it for more than an hour. I listen to music on my way to school on the bus everyday and I'm fine but sometimes I wear the headphones while reading on the weekends and after an hour or so they begin to ache. But I still wear them all the time because I have all my favorite songs on my phone. I find the double main screen thing really cool. I'm sure that is one thing no other phone has. Plus, the cookie is soo light! When I was first handed the phone, I thought it was a toy. I think the idea of pressing the middle button and seeing all the running apps is really cool and handy for switching in between apps. Texting with the stylist on qwerty mode is very handy. I have never found the need to use wifi on the phone so I don't care about it. The camera on the phone has really good photo quality as long as you take it with good light. When the light isn't so good, the photo doesn't come out too good either. The touch screen takes a little time to respond, but all of these problems are just minor glitches, which are common for most phones. I personally love this phone, but it is not the best phone if you are looking for iPhone standard. I totally reccomend this to anybody with a low budget, and small expectations.

Touch screen phone,Music player,camera,video,bluetooth.
by jersey_guitar on February 17, 2011
Pros: Ok touch screen phone.Calls clear, plays music well, virtual keyboard for texting, Speaker loud for music. Java apps. Short cut icons for speed dialing.
Cons: Battery life could be better. Screen response can be slow. Needs better calendar.

Summary: I have the black phone and my wife has the pink one. We bought them unlocked and use on AT&T. I have been using this phone for about 8 months. I like the music player and the speaker is loud. Works well with my Motorola bluetooth headset. When texting, turn phone sideways to get full virtual keyboard. I downloaded some Java apps, most are free. I use the short cut icons on for speed dialing. Menus are somewhat configurable, could be better. I have not had the rebooting problems some others have reported. CON: You need to fully charge the battery and if it goes to 2 bars, get ready to charge it cause it goes fast. Screen response is slow sometimes.

A bad choice for any one!
by arocks10 on January 18, 2011
Pros: It's a touch screen phone
Cons: Everything! For example, its battery life is too short, the screen isn't sensitive enough, the camera resolution is terrible, the phone's response is too slow. It's a really bad phone!! And so many other things...
Summary: Me and three more friends have this phone, & we've all experienced problems with it. First of all, the phone is too slow, and it freezes most of the ...
Summary: Me and three more friends have this phone, & we've all experienced problems with it. First of all, the phone is too slow, and it freezes most of the time. The screen isn't sensitive enough, you have to poke it in order for it to work at all. The camera is also terrible, the resolution is worse than 3MegaPixels and it doesn't capture light very well. The Battery life is too short, it's over after I use it for one or two days, and I just send and receive calls & sms. It also reboots it self for no apparent reason, the info stored in the Memory Card is lost all of a sudden. It's a really bad phone.

Great phone! But it looks a little cheap.
by jasontsao on May 28, 2010
Pros: Very light! Easy to use, and it's a great phone to edit photos and stuff like that. Very organized.
Cons: The qwerty keyboard sometimes takes time to turn, so I have to turn it from portrait mode to landscape mode again. The keyboard gets some time to get used to. Also, the keys are really small. Typing takes some time too.
Summary: Overall, this phone is a good phone. But if you are a texter and have big hands, you might want to go with some other phone. Texting takes a longer ...
Summary: Overall, this phone is a good phone. But if you are a texter and have big hands, you might want to go with some other phone. Texting takes a longer time to do, and I want a phone that has a QWERTY keyboard and slides out. Sometimes, the phone doesn't go to landscape mode so that really bugs me. I just put it up as portrait and do it again, Also the typing speed is sorta slow. If you don't text, then this is a great phone to have!

Bummer-unimpressed
by Mulizza on February 15, 2010
Pros: This phone looked fun...but it was a headache! Thank goodness they let me return it. The touch screen was not working well..caused alot of oopsies...also, a phone this costly with NO impressive feature or functions?
Cons: Touchscreen was terrible (I tested for three days...recallibrated two or three times, too-not me); lack of functions and apps; lack of quick texting (no 'recently used" option...just terrible!)-not quick to do ANYTHING.
Summary: Totally unimpressed.
