LG Rumor Touch (Virgin Mobile) price range: $89.99

The good: The LG Rumor Touch has a very text-messaging-friendly interface. Its slider QWERTY keyboard is easy to use, and we like that it has a 3.5mm headset jack for music, e-mail, social networking support, and great call quality.
The bad: The LG Rumor Touch's photo quality is average, and the touch screen isn't quite as responsive as we would like.
The bottom line: The LG Rumor Touch is a touch-screen phone for Virgin Mobile that is geared especially for messaging fans.

Love this phone!!!
by LeftyKittay on October 27, 2011
Pros: It became my friend, in settings you can go and sync the touchscreen to the way you do it, good photo quality, good messaging, works with opera mini. Tough, I'm terrible with electronics and dropped mine out of a second-story window and onto pavement and
Cons: (From personal experience) Won't survive the washing machine, but really unless you get one that costs you an arm and a leg, what phone will?
Summary: Great phone, especially for a first phone or for people who don't like to mess with the glitches and complications of a smartphone but that want a really good, ...

Don't let this deal fool you!

Pros: Cheap, slide out keypad, decent camera quality, easy internet access, great phone plan
Cons: Trouble in sending messages, trouble in receiving messages, phone randomly restarts, touch screen is buggy, frequently dropped calls

Summary: When I first got the phone, I thought it was great; it came for a cheap price, had a decent battery life, the slide out keypad worked like a charm, and the touch screen responded well (until it got buggy), but after a while, the service started to go out on me. My bad experience with this phone may not be the same as everyone else's, but I know I'm not the only one that has experienced these issues. I live in an area where I get between 3 or 4 bars on average, yet my phone still fails to receive messages on a regular basis. For example, messages sent throughout the day will frequently not be received until many hours later, even though they show the original time that the message was sent. Another problem with the messaging feature is the inability to send messages. Ever since I've had this phone, it seems that every other time I try to send a message, the message will keep trying to send but will time out, and say that the network is not responding. This can't be fixed unless you restart your phone, after which your message can be sent, which isn't impossible, but it gets extremely frustrating when you have to do this after every other text that you send. On top of the messaging, my calling seems to be very glitchy, in which the phone will very frequently drop my calls, but this may or may not be dependent on where I live. I know, however, that the messaging glitch doesn't depend on location, as I have been everywhere between big cities, suburbs, and the middle of the desert, and the messaging system still fails me.
Even though many of this model phone end up being glitchy, the deal at $25 a month for unlimited messaging, data, and 300 minutes a month isn't something that can be competed with. All I can recommend would be to get the amazingly cleap and trusty Virgin Mobile service, but use it on a different model phone. -
Good Phone, Lives up to Expectations
by keagkid101 on June 29, 2011
Pros: Full QWERTY keyboard with adequate space, Hello UI, good for internet browsing, easy to text
Cons: Somewhat unresponsive touch screen, vibration whenever touching touch screen (can be turned off), noise made for every key you touch (can be removed but only when on vibrate or silent), lack of settings for personalization.

Summary: I've had this phone since August 2010 and I can say its decent, especially for an avid texter or for a teen who doesn't really care much about anything besides texting and going on Facebook on-the-go. I would not recommend keeping this phone over a year....you will get bored of it. The touchscreen is not the best: it feels cheap, and is sometimes unresponsive and gets laggy, especially when scrolling down/up a page. The vibration when scrolling through or touching something on the screen can be bothersome, but it can be removed. I do not like vibration but I keep it on because it's even worse without it! Every single time you press any key on the phone, it makes an annoying beep. This can only be turned off when on silent or on vibrate.
The phone is also not good for personalization. There is a very limited amount of available ringtones and pre-loaded backgrounds. You can't change anything about the layout/appearance of the screen. I wanted to change the colors of the home and clock screen, as it is a very dark color. Can't change that.
The mobile internet is good for only checking email or updating a status on Twitter or Facebook. IT IS NOT GOOD FOR PROLONGED INTERNET USE. It is bothersome to scroll up/down a screen, especially when its laggy. Internet pages load slow unless the website has a mobile internet page. Youtube has terrible video quality, and the screen is tiny. Plus, YouTube drains the phone's battery quickly, as does the MP3 player. So, if you plan on using this phone for web browsing for over 5 minutes or you plan on watching a lot of Youtube, I would not suggest this phone.
There is also a huge lack of apps....the only ones available are used to purchase something, such as a ringtone or a background. There are no game apps. The best part of Virgin Mobile is the replacement policy. I had my phone in the front pocket of my backpack, and I dropped my backpack front first onto the ground, and the screen cracked internally. I called VM, and they shipped me a refurbished phone for free.
Overall, the phone is good for about a year, then I would suggest an upgrade. I plan on getting the LG Optimus V even before having this phone for a whole year. -
Same issues the Rumor phones had all along....
by EmpireAndAll on June 21, 2011
Pros: Fast, convenient, Opera Mini is great for browsing, high res pictures, camcorder, sends messages fast.
Cons: Will restart itself randomly, horrible service, media player very limited, can't download free content from interent, everything has to be bought from VM , Similar issues that the Rumor and Rumor 2 had.

Summary: When I got the phone, I hoped it wouldn't misbehave like the original rumor. the touch screen was responsive but it quickly went south. I would be texting and the phone would shut off and turn on again, basicly reset.
The original rumor did this when I was on the internet. It will do it randomly, even when its just sitting on my dresser, not in use. I want a new phone and its only been a month and a week since I got it. I am sick of the Rumor series because they don't solve the problems the previous phone had. I hoped for more from LG but they failed me. I am getting an Android phone now.
For someone who texts and uses mobile internet like its going out of fashion, I can't stand it anymore. -
loved the phone, love the price, service could be better
by taylyne89 on June 11, 2011
Pros: touch screen, liked the keypad, had great service when i got it, the price is awesome!
Cons: bad battery life when using the phone for txt an internet, the worst customer service, making sure you have coverage where you live, not all websites work, you have to buy a top up card just to txt an use internet but they arent refunded so if your phone

Summary: I loved the phone. Didn't have it for 24 though. I had coverage in my city but as soon as I got home I had no service til I got back into town (10-15 drive). Bought the $25 top-up card so I could try out the phone an then found out it wouldn't work at the house. Took the phone back to the store I bought it from for a refund. And on the top of the top-up card it says that they can't refund them, but I wasn't about to throw away $25 for only using 3 min. I called to speak with someone at there customer service, which was a pain in itself! They were suppose to call me back to let me know if they would cut me a check for the $25 an I waited 5 hrs an no called. So I called them again an finally got it straightened out but it took forever because no one there speaks good english nor can they understand you! All in all loved the phone, love the price, has great service when you get it, but they really need to fix their customer service. They don't have a number prompt just to speak with someone so you go in circles with the computer. They do need people that can speak english. Other than not getting coverage where I live now, once I move I'll def. be getting them again an hope that I don't have to call them for anything. I would def. recommend this to a friend.

Good phone, but plagued by some poor design features
by woppini on May 26, 2011
Pros: Great for texting, easy to use, large buttons
Cons: The phone has auto lock. It can NOT be disabled. It will auto lock even during a call. There is no "end call" button. You have to try and find it on the screen. But what good is it anyways since the screen auto locks!

Summary: Thought I could get used to the nuances but after 3 weeks I gave up. I mean cmon, how good is a phone when you cant easily end a call? 50% of the time it added one minute to each call while I fumbled with unlock, trying to find the end call icon. Heck sometimes the icon wasnt even there, and the back button at times didnt work. Returned it and got an LG Remark. Not as sleek or text efficient, but it does have an "end call" button! LG, are you listening?!

Summary: ok first off i thought i could do much more on it than the rumor 2, but it basicly is a rumor 2 with a touch screen. if you want this phone it basicly would make sense to buy the rumor 2 because the touch is the same thing, just with out the touch screen. IT IS NOT A SMART PHONE! ok dont worry i thought it was a smart phone but it is not powered by a android operating system and anything without android is not a smartphone, it may look like it but its not!

I also thought the phone was ok at first....
by lellibelli on May 9, 2011
Pros: The slide keyboard is always nice when you do a lot of messaging.
Cons: I dont like the fact that I have a phone that is capable of using all of those fun apps, but the carrier does not allow it. My fiance has the same phone but goes through sprint, he is able to go to an app website and download any ringtone or app that he w
