Good Standard Flip Phone
by caffeinelife on November 7, 2010
Pros: Excellent call quality, relatively sturdy construction, is waterproof and can take a beating

The people who are complaining about the battery life need to get a life. The battery isn't going to last for a week, but I get a good two or three days and only go down to 50% AT MOST, before needing to charge. This isn't a smartphone, but it's not needing to be charged daily. One of my coworkers did have a serious battery issue, but it was fixed by replacing the battery.
If you don't use the internet functionality, turn off the EV-DO and it will perform even better.
The call quality and texting ability are great. Don't listen to the haters. Good phone!!!3 out of 4 users found this user opinion helpful.

by ajfehler on June 1, 2010
Pros: Better Built than most Phones!!
Cons: Pictures SUCK (dark and grainy), Screen scratches easily (inside and outside screens), 1 Day Battery Life,.....MOST DISAPOINTING - Phone is water resistant AT BEST, mine was ruined in five inches of water for five seconds!!

Battery Problems-I've got the battery issue figured out
by rbraunston on July 2, 2010
Pros: This phone is extremely durable, I find the sound to be very good and the speaker is excellent.
Cons: I have 2 of these phones - on one of the phones the battery cover did not seat properly in the top right-hand corner. No User Guide with the phone - only a small book title, Tips, Hints and Shortcuts.
Summary: The Barrage V860 is an excellent phone for a basic phone. If you want to text then buy a phone that is designed for that purpose. Some people complain this ...
Summary: The Barrage V860 is an excellent phone for a basic phone. If you want to text then buy a phone that is designed for that purpose. Some people complain this phone is too thick ? it is thicker than most phones but that?s what gives this phone its durability. If you have had water leak into the phone, it?s because the battery cover is not seated all the way as it was on one of my phones, send it back to Motorola for repair ? I was able to repair mine with a pocket knife. Now for the battery issue most of you have been complaining about and incidentally, I have had the same problem. I sent my phones to Motorola for repair four times and I have two phones. They keep sending it back to me stating they reinstalled the software and everything else is OK but the phone?s batteries continued to drain prematurely. There would be 2 bars when I went to bed and in the morning the batteries would be dead. The phone comes with a guide that is called, ?Tips, Hints, and Shortcuts?. I requested the ?User Guide? from Motorola ? on page 9 there is a section named ?Battery, conserve battery power?. The first bullet says ?Turn Bluetooth power off when not in use. Apparently the phone uses an excessive amount of power for Bluetooth communication even though you?re not using a Bluetooth device. The phone doesn?t know if you are going to turn a Bluetooth device on so it?s constantly using power for Bluetooth communication. Once I turned the Bluetooth off the phone performed as advertised and it now stays on for days. Regarding the ?User Guide?, Motorola asked that I download the .pdf from their website but I found it was not there so they sent it to me ? it may be there now but it wasn?t there when I made the request. Motorola should provide a User Guide but they don?t.

Charge Battery with phone off or charge will suck.
by yahjnby on February 25, 2010
Pros: I needed a phone I could drop in the toilet, then wash off without killing it. Nice rugged phone.
Cons: It seems like I need to turn phone off to get a good charge that lasts a week or so.

Summary: I like having a rugged phone. It's battery last a week, compared to my mostly dead spent phone, that is great. I don't worry about getting it wet. I use phonezoo.com to create my own ringtones for free, which is a lot of fun. I put google's free 800 cell phone 411 in my friends and family so I now make make 411 calls for free. Now I just have to figure out how to put my itunes music on this phone and skip the vcast stuff. It shouldn't take me long.
Maybe I'm easy to please because I have been using a trashed cell phone for the last year, but I love the big screen, the really strong vibrate mode, and the better camera. I also like how easy it is to use the separated buttons. I don't use push to talk, so I can customize that nice big button on the side. Anyway, I'd recommend it.2 out of 2 users found this user opinion helpful.

Awesome phone! Excellent phone for the money....
by jason011975 on November 20, 2009
Pros: The phone is very tough and waterproof..I used to have a Casio gz one Boulder and this phone blows it away especialy when it comes to picture and video messaging..It has a very quick menu with no lag time when scrolling through..Im very happy with it
Cons: The ONLY 2 things i dont like are... it doesnt have a flashlight like my Casio Boulder did (however everything else on my Boulder was terrible) so i can live without a flashlight. The other thing is the Bluetooth quality isnt perfect but good enough.
Summary: I am VERY happy with the durability of the phone and the fact that it is able to send and recieve very large amounts of info up to 1200kb with ...
Summary: I am VERY happy with the durability of the phone and the fact that it is able to send and recieve very large amounts of info up to 1200kb with picture and video messaging compared to 600kb or so with other phones ive had. The call quality is perfect when not using the bluetooth and so so with the blutooth. I am very happy with the phone overall A huge improvement over the Casio Boulder i used to have.

The Barrage is an excellent, rugged phone.
by CountryKnight on April 16, 2012
Pros: Good design and clear display. Camera is easy to use. Has good battery life.
Cons: None i can think of. I basically onlyuse a phone for making and receiving phone calls.

Summary: My son has one and he liked it so well I had to buy one. He accidently dropped his in 5 feet of water and had to dive for it. Took him over 30 minutes to find it. Still works great. I have only had mine for about 2 weeks. It has impoved my reception, minimized my dropped calls and improved call quality.

Reliable telephone service...always!
by toadfun on February 20, 2012
Pros: Well made. Great reception. Can be laundered while turned on, taken out of the wash and still used (that was a year ago).
Cons: People mock my phone, but that is a larger narcissistic and nihilistic sociological problem of America...not a problem with the phone itself.
Summary: I use a telephone as a telephone. It sends and receives phone calls. It sends and receives text messages. It does this better than any previous phone used (and better ...
Summary: I use a telephone as a telephone. It sends and receives phone calls. It sends and receives text messages. It does this better than any previous phone used (and better than my colleagues iPhones).
I own a camera to take pictures.
I own a television and a laptop to watch video content.
I own a stereo system to listen to music.
I own a Garmin for finding directions to places.
Four things I do not care if a phone can do.
This phone allows me quality reception in places that smartphones cannot cope with. I have had conversations on this phone in the following towns in Michigan: Copper Falls, Pere Cheney, Fiborn Quarry, Hunt Spur, Sigma, Victoria, Liske, and also at the mouth of the Two Hearted River.
If durability and good signal are important, this is a great product. If gadgets are your thing...that's your dilemma and you'll never be satisfied.1 out of 1 users found this user opinion helpful.

This is the best phone I've ever owned.
by Samiis49 on February 22, 2011
Pros: It is very clear when I'm talking on it. I don't have a problem hearing what people are saying like I did with other cell phones.
Cons: The battery life is bad, it doesn't last long.
Summary: I don't use my cell phone for anything fancy, so it's perfect for me. I like the feel of it when I'm holding it, it's comfortable ...
Summary: I don't use my cell phone for anything fancy, so it's perfect for me. I like the feel of it when I'm holding it, it's comfortable to hold. It works well with my bluetooth and it is sturdy.
I do agree about the battery cover, it doesn't fit tight. I did call motorola about that issue and they replaced it. The new cover fits much better, but not perfect.
The two bad features are the battery and the cover, but the phone itself so far, I love it and I would recommend it to anyone.
I have had bad luck with every phone I that I've ever owned and had to call the phone companies several times because of it, but I like this one.1 out of 1 users found this user opinion helpful.
