Summary: If there is a reason why you should buy this phone is because Nextel is giving it free at this time in an attempt to lure business into the "Nextel side."
The basic problem with this phone is that is pretty much outdated by now -even for Nextel standards- and that in a few months it will museum like.

Good, Basic Phone
by on January 12, 2005
Pros: Really cheap. Great reception. 2-way feature. Durable (I have dropped it MANY times and left it in insanely high temperatures, and it still works great). I wanted a basic phone just for calling - not for pictures, games, or other "fancy" features.

Wish I'd kept my old phone

Pros: Cute ring tones and all, I guess
Cons: Bad sound. I can barely hear anyone when they call and they can barely hear me. Nextel won't replace phone.

Pretty good overall
by on September 29, 2004
Pros: Its free so ya don't xpect alot of extras, if you just need a phone, this is the best. It has the 2 way direct connect, and all of nextels services. I found 3 games on the newer version (Sept. 2004) and the battery life is excellent!
Cons: No real extras, but you can add them before or after you activate the phone, mainly just ringtones but you can also add web browsing, GPS, and text messaging (if you need that sort of thing).

Excellent Bargain Phone.
by on August 2, 2004
Pros: Very small compared to other nextel phones. Ringtone capabilities(.midi) as well as voice notes, voice dialing, and speakerphone. Its also great that you dont need any torx screws to install faceplates.Simple pop off-on install.
Cons: Sadly there are no Java Games, but its ease of modability easily makes up for it.
