Don't buy this
by techmanjoe on September 28, 2009
Pros: Study design, charges from a standard mini-USB connection.
Cons: When you encounter this phone it will most likely be severely crippled, such that it does not accept normal ring tones etc.
Summary: It's defective by design. Unless you want a big headache or your name is Benjamin Dover, don't buy it.

by zray4daze on May 24, 2009
Pros: I like the sturdy, thin design, sound quality, volume, reception is good,
Cons: Texting is difficult and slow and the buttons, although tough, are not good for texting, too hard to push. And theres a delete message option that is of no use and got in my way.If you are into texting,do not choose this phone.

Great Sure Grip Phone for Athletes and Seniors
by Alvin English on February 18, 2009
Pros: The Motorola i335 has excellent voice quality. The rubber coating makes it next to impossible to accidentally drop the phone. It is thin and feels good in the hand. The menu is very user friendly. This phone is very sturdy.
Cons: I nolonger use my other cellular phone.

Summary: First, it is very difficult to separate the cellular phones from the service providers - in my case Boostmobile. I purchased this phone as a spare to be used when doing those sweaty manly things guys do on the weekends. My Motorola i776 would serve as the main cell phone - at least that was the plan. I quickly became very attached to the i335.
p.s.
The phone is covered in a rubber coating which gives me a sure grip. It feels durable and sturdy like it could take a fall, if knocked off a work bench or counter.
The quality of the Boostmobile calls in the Metro-Detroit and suburbs are exceptionally good.
I am totally blown away by this basic cell phone.

This is one durable phone.
by luckyone2009 on December 28, 2008
Pros: Lets just say I ave a tendency to drop things. I have dropped this phone several tmes in 1 year but the most recent drop included getting buried in a snowbank for 5 days. I found the phone plugged it in and it worked! Thats a rugged phone.
Cons: I did not like the carrying cases offered at the time I purchased mine.

Got what I paid for, and then some
by AgentScribe on December 28, 2008
Pros: Sleek, light, does everything it should and nothing it shouldn't. Looks far better than what it costs.
Cons: No automated keypad lock.

Summary: I bought this an inexpensive upgrade to get onto the direct connect system for a previous job I had. I was happy with phone and DC features. Compared to other DC phones I've seen this looked better and weighed less. I reluctantly dropped this phone when I switched to a Verizon plan for work. Now, I'm in the market for a quality smart phone on the Verizon network.

Great Phone for basic use...However you better be familiar with Sprint/Nextel service and phones!
by Phoxyy on May 24, 2008

Summary: First I would like to say I am new to Sprint/Nextel. I came from Helio and previous to that T-mobile. Now as far as the phone itself. I cant complain MUCH. I dont think there is much info provided with the phone about its features or options. For instance, when I received my Heat from Helio it gave a brief pamphlet on what certain buttons would do, and how to access certain functions. With this phone it kinda left me out in the cold, and I was left to figure out most things for myself. Example, I do not like that I cant set my phone to disable the ring certain times of the day. And although my phone was down low, my text message and voice mail was still loud! Once again I am sure there is a way to do this but in the 6 days I have had it, I havent made the time to figure it out. And although I have only had the service for 6 days I now have a better understanding that Nextel works on a different tour which explains why sometimes I could receive that annoying message "THE NEXTEL CUSTOMER YOU ARE TRYING TO REACH CAN NOT BE LOCATED"!! From what I understand if I choose a hybrid phone the chance of getting a message like that is slim to none. This is quite frustating, the only reason why I chose Sprint is because my Helio bill for the all in package was to expensive with taxes, and my job will give us an awesome savings with Sprint. And I figured because Helio worked in my home flawlessly (WHICH IS A COMAPNY THAT WORKS UNDER SPRINT SERVICE) that having the actual Sprint/Nextel service would work perfectly in my home, and on top of that I could save 20%. All in all the phone seems to be of good quality, its nothing like my Sidekick,Razor, or Heat...however I didnt chose the phone for its cool features, or sleek design. However, It would have been nice to find more useful information on the phone at my fingertips, and it would have been even nicer to experience service that works continuously! I hope this explains my rating of the phone being very good for the price..the service could definately be better. I am still in my 30 days so I will try the Ic920 next, which is a Hybrid and from what I understand it should work great. I hope to tell you some awesome features about that phone. Wish me luck.

Smallest push to talk I have seen yet!

Summary: The size of this phone hooked me. I was tired of lugging around a large flip phone and need push to talk for work. Loud speaker makes it audible at a public event, construction site, or daycare. I have noticed that even when set to silent mode the phone will still give an audible Voice Mail notification. Also if you want to see your call log dont expect much information from it. There is no record of date or time of call, only the duration is listed.

Slim, GPS, USB, Bluetooth, what else?
by hoffa53 on March 21, 2008
Pros: GPS over USB, Slim, great battery.
Cons: Send/End buttons look identical at night. Power button still works while keys are locked.
Summary: I just discovered that this phone does NMEA GPS over the USB connection! This phone together with roadnav (http://roadnav.sourceforge.net/) is awesome.

The sound quality is better than the previous phones I had (i560 and i275). The display is better as well.
Since I carry the phone in my pocket, the form dimensions are perfect. It is not too bulky and there is no antenna jabbing me.
I only see two cons to the phone:
The Send and End buttons look identical at night. Since the buttons are in the standard positions, you'd think that I would remember where they are.
The Power button still works while the keys are locked.
Overall, I think that this is one of Nextel's best phones yet. At $30, it is a low cost all around good phone.
