Cons: there's no excuse for this piece of junk; Nokia should be ashamed to put their name on it
Summary: A few months ago Tracfone (which used to be a decent company) replaced (read: phased out) a number of their phones, and sent free upgrades to their subscribers.

Apparently the definition of upgrade has changed radically; tracfone replaced a sturdy, reliable, easy to use phone with a flimsy, cheaply made piece of junk.
The plastic for both the housing and the screen are very thin. Even though I've kept the phone in a case (no case or much of anything else in the way of accessories is available for this turkey--I had to make my own) the screen has major scratches after only 2 months of use.
The keys are small and unevenly lit; the sound system is the worst I've encountered. Unless you have the phone jammed tight up against your ear, it's nearly impossible to hear anything. There's a control for adjusting the sound, but it has to be readjusted for each phone call. As soon as you hang up, it reverts back to it's too-soft-to-hear mode. Adjusting the sound or setting the phone for speaker is both difficult and haphazard--the controls may work, or they may not. Usually, they don't.
Unless you're forced to use this poor excuse for a phone (I still have almost 10 hours of phone time to use up before I jettison both this phone and Tracfone) don't waste your time or money on it.
Summary: I've had this phone for over a year now thru Tracphone. I like that it is small, but not too small. I really don't like flip phones so that is another plus for me that it isn't one. This Nokia has impressed the heck out of me lately after I stupidly left it on the hood of my car, ran over it and, even though the battery is crunched and the liquid crystal screen broke and turned my screen purple and blue, the thing still charges and works three weeks later!!!! You can't even tell from the outside that it was run over. It was actually a little button on the protective cover I put over the phone that was pushed in and caused the dent in the battery. The case is in perfect condition! I will have to get a new phone (I can only see the top left of my screen) but I have seriously considered trying to buy another 2600. Talk about 'take a licking and keep on ticking'!
Pros: small, good reception, great battery life, fine sound quality
Cons: lots of plastic, dust gets under screen

Summary: This is a fine phone if your interest is to make the occasional call. I got it for Tracfone use and it has served me well over the last few months. The GSM ability works well if you are in a strong Cingular area as it piggy-backs on their system. Nice color screen at a low price (usually under $29 in many stores).

Summary: I bought this phone as part of the Trac Fone system. It has a good color display, a nice selection of ring tones, small size and good sound. It's easy to set-up and recharge.
The 2600 has basic features like text messaging, one-touch dialing, and vibration but no camera or anything like that. It's a good choice for a Trac Fone.
On the minus side, it's a little cumbersome to put someone on the loudspeaker and the person will hear the tones when you switch to it. Also, you have to be connected to a call in order to use the loudspeaker. It's also hard to hear with an earphone connected, however, the earphone may be the culprit.
Updated I found out the earphone jack will work if you use Options and choose "Loudspeaker". Then you'll be able to hear on the earphone. You still have to speak into the phone for the other party to hear.
Updated When the earphone is used, you have to choose "Options" then "Loudspeaker" which defeats the purpose of the earphone in the first place. The speaker stays on even if the earphone is in place.

Summary: i will never use tracfone again, their customer service is awful! and to top things off they just ripped me off by the $20 i spent on a 60 minute card, i had attempted to add the minutes to my phone but the phone was "no longer supported" by the network i was happy to find out they had a replacement program that got me a new phone at no charge...but then i attempted to add the minutes i had purchased to the new phone and they tell me that i attempted to add them before and that i waited longer then three days to notify them that the minutes didn't get added, and i spent over three hours in the last week on the phone on hold and talking to people that i cant understand very well attempting to fix the problem...all to no avail
