Pantech Link (AT&T) price range: $34.99

The good: The Pantech Link is thin and sleek with a rubberized backing and a nice QWERTY keyboard. It has a 1.3-megapixel camera, a music player, 3G/HSDPA, and support for AT&T's new cloud services. It is also very affordable.
The bad: The call quality could be improved and the HTML browser seems wasted on such a small screen.
The bottom line: The Pantech Link is an absolute steal with an excellent array of midrange features, a great slim design, and a wallet-friendly price. We wish only that it had better call quality.

Summary: the only reason i got this phone was because it was cheap, i only payed 30 bucks for the prepaid version on att because i figured its the best cheap phone i could get considerin i allready have service with att therefore any phones through them would be very expensive, even this phone but it was prepaid and refubished which i dont mind so i switched simcards and was ready to go. BUT to the point. this phone has many good features for not being a smartphone, such as the video recorder, and the raised keyboard that make it much easier to type with compared to some phones like the kyocera wildcard or the rumor 2. but what annoys the heck out of me is all those preinstalled apps you get, they take up space, and unless you have a data plan, they are stupid and useless, but they were useless to begin with, they should have never installed them, just let us choose what we want using up space on our phone. and the worst problem of all, the music player, when i first got it i figured the music player would be my favorite feature considerin it would have been my primary mp3 plater but boy was i wrong, first off, ANY phone that plays music should either have a regular earphone jack or have no music player at all, because you cant charge and listen at the same time with headphones and its dumb that i have to shop on ebay for the adapter or go to att and pay like 10000 dollars for their band. but when i finally got the adapter i plug in my headphones and was pretty pissed because i had heard absolutly nothing at all, i thought my headphones were broken so i tried another pair, still nothing, but i pushed them in further and realised, my headphones werent broken, the music was just very very very quiet, i tried 4 different pairs of headphones and the music was so quiet that i couldnt even hear it a secluded area behind my class, worst music play in the freaking world, like seriously, you obviously had to test the phones functionality before putting it out on the market, you obviously knew how quiet the music player was when you were testing it, but you ignored it, idiots, i give the music player negative 1 billion out of 10

not worth it

Pros: Great threaded texting, bubbled keys easy to type on, great for older users who need simplicity
Cons: poor battery life, limited customization, primitive wallpapers and ringtones, obtuse when it comes to getting around the phone easily, terrible camera, poor stereo (hard to hear on), background noise

Summary: This is a newbie phone, simply put. I love the texting options, but other than that, this phone is not for those on the move with busy lives. As a student and professional, I got so fed up with the lack of options and customization of the Link and just switched back to my Samsung Blackjack II. I just couldn't get anything done on the Link! It's a poor phone with cheap construction and primitive software. Don't waste your time if you're looking for a high performance phone without the need for a data plan.

Best phone I have ever had.
Pros: - Basic layout
- the size (fits nicely into any pocket, purse, etc)
- Screen size
- The service
- the "Chat-like" text messaging
- the automatic lock so you don't go pushing buttons all day long in your pocket.Cons: - Limited Text message storage
- No flash for the camera
- The darn '.com' key next to the ' . ' key
- I have a data plan, but for those that don't, you can get KILLED with chargers if you're not careful.Summary: I have had other types of phones that were OK, but once I got my first Pantech, I've been hooked ever since. When my first one finally crapped out ...
Summary: I have had other types of phones that were OK, but once I got my first Pantech, I've been hooked ever since. When my first one finally crapped out after about two years, I knew I would go back to Pantech for my next one. Very glad I did. This phone is very nice, easy to use, great for texting, especially if you can't text in T9 mode on a basic numeric pad. The option to have it automatically lock is also really nice, so you don't go racking up the bill. The only thing that I really can't stand is the limited memory space for text messaging. I have been wanting to get a memory card for a while now, but am unsure if it will improve the text messaging memory or not. I also feel that there are too many "apps" that come with the phone, that you only get a trial for and then have to pay $20 or more a month to use the whole application. I wish there was a way to remove them from the phone permanently. Other than that, I will be sticking with this phone until the day it dies. Then I will come back to pantech and get a new one.

Went from iPhone to This - I WANT MY IPHONE BACK
by PrincessAmanda on November 3, 2010
Pros: I'm really trying hard. It's thin. That's it's pro. And the alarm works. I haven't been late to work with this alarm.
Cons: I hate texting on it, I hate getting calls on it. I used it for a month and went back to a Blackberry Curve.

Good Texting Phone
by SilverPumpkin22 on September 13, 2010
Pros: Keyboard is very easy to use for messaging. Layout of text conversations is great! Screen is of decent size & color. Very reasonably priced.
Cons: No flash for the camera. Can't edit pictures after taking them. Has different modes for taking videos which can be a pain, depending on what you're trying to do. Data Cable doesn't work with computer. Got an adapter for MicroSD instead & it works!

Summary: I like this phone. It's easy to text on, has a great text conversation layout, camera is decent for what you're paying, & it's light & portable to carry around. It'd be nice if you could personalize your text message alerts for each individuals. Can't edit pictures after taking them, have to do that before & that's limited. From time to time, hasn't happen in 3 weeks or so, my phone will just turn off & restart. I think there's a programming glitch cause it seems to happen when I press certain buttons, not sure which ones, it does this. Overall this phone is pretty good for what one is paying. If you like texting & a decent call quality & easy to carry around; this is your phone.

A good basic text friendly phone with no moving parts.
by medped202 on July 4, 2010
Pros: I love the fact that this phone is not a slide or flip open phone. Also it is so slim that it can be carried in any pocket!
Also, the phone does not waste battery power by serching for service in no service areas! a big plus!!Cons: The battery life is not the best but to be expected from such a slim phone!
Summary: Pantech has really surprized me, I am a motorola fan because of it's better than most reception, The pantech does not disappoint in this area either, A great phone ...

Loving it so far
by reeniesr on June 1, 2010
Pros: My Motorola Razr died on Memorial Day - so I strolled into the ATT store looking for a replacement. Quick and easy setup and I was on the net and texting.
Cons: Picture quality on on the phone is not great (as others have mentioned), but that's why I have a separate, high-quality, multi-pixel camera! This camera gets the job done for what it is.
Summary: I'm not much of a social networker, but was please to see how easy it is to connect with the web, google maps, facebook, etc. Great screen quaility -- ...
Summary: I'm not much of a social networker, but was please to see how easy it is to connect with the web, google maps, facebook, etc. Great screen quaility -- even in bright sunlight.
Up and running with my gmail in short order. Figured out the main features of the phone quickly and best of all--- it has the hole in the case so I can attach it to my lanyard and wear around my neck. (A regrettable shortcoming [absence] of most cell designs today). I really like my new (notSMART) but great phone! -
