Pantech Link P7040p GoPhone - black (AT&T) - Prepaid/Pay As You Go price range: $29.99

The good: The Pantech Link is thin and sleek with a rubberized backing and a nice QWERTY keyboard. It has a 1.3-megapixel camera, a music player, 3G/HSDPA, and support for AT&T's new cloud services. It is also very affordable.
The bad: The call quality could be improved and the HTML browser seems wasted on such a small screen.
The bottom line: The Pantech Link is an absolute steal with an excellent array of midrange features, a great slim design, and a wallet-friendly price. We wish only that it had better call quality.

Summary: I really like this phone. It replace a Samsung Solstice 1. I drove myself crazy looking for a replacement phone. Looking at review after review....People had problems with every single phone out there so I figured why renew my contract for a phone that may break in two months? I decided to pick a gophone instead. This phone is really great. It has not dropped any calls yet or butt dialed. It has a screen lock to prevent that. The keys are really nice. I normally don't like small keys but I am texting with ease. I have heard others complain that they pull the phone out of their pocket only to discover that they were on the internet...I don't see how with the screen lock. If you don't want to have a data plan and don't want to accidentally trigger data charges then do what I have done... I have contacted AT&T and blocked all data on my phone so those kinds of things don't happen. :-) I have lots of contacts and were able to set ringtones and pictures for each contact. I use the alarm clock, calculator, calendar, timer and find them all easy to use. The battery is not bad but could be a bit better. I last about two days with normal use. For $59.00 and no contract renewel...this phone is a nice replacement. All of the features of a blackberry with out the high data plan. I droped it a couple of times and that didn't harm the phone.

Great phone for the price!
by SkiRascal on March 14, 2012
Pros: Slim, easy to use with a very user-friendly qwerty keypad. Nice bright screen and the qwerty keys are very easy to read at night. Navigation is not over-done and the .com dedicated button is a nice touch.
Cons: The sound quality of the speaker for music will not thrill anyone who likes music, and the headphones I bought for them were a bit dissapointing. I do not need it real loud, but it is really too low. Beyond that, it is fine.

Summary: For the price, it is about the best phone I have owned. I read here that others have issues with it going on the web randomly, but that can be turned off in the options and settings. It is pre-set to check for updates on news and such. It is very comfortable in the hand and is more sturdy that it looks. The qwerty keyboard was a very nice surprise as it IS small, but with the raised bubble design of the keys very easy to use. Picture quality is very nice as well and auto-adjusts for light conditions. All in all, an excellent phone and out-shines many of the higher priced phones out on the market right now.

Pros: Price, quality, features, and no contract, can't complain!
Cons: Would have liked wifi for work, but not a big deal.
Summary: If you don't make a ton of calls or texts, why not go-phone?

Pros: Nothing bad, it's all good.
Cons: Doesn't have a 3.5mm Headphone jack to listen to music. But otherwise spectacular.
