The good: The Pantech Reveal has a roomy number keypad, a full QWERTY keyboard, a full HTML Web browser based on Opera, plus 3G, GPS, and multimedia features.
The bad: The Pantech Reveal's QWERTY keyboard feels a bit cramped, and though we like the HTML browser, the small screen size meant we had to scroll though Web pages a lot more.
The bottom line: Despite a few design issues, the Pantech Reveal is a good midrange messaging phone with the added bonus of a full HTML Web browser.
Pass on this one

Pros: Like the feel. Display is bright. Functions are easily accessible. Pretty quick connecting to net, pages load fast.
Cons: Battery life - 8 hrs. tops!! No voice dialing. Keyboard and buttons too small. Can't control many functions (button assignment, lock timeout, icon placement on menu screen, etc...).
Summary: I am returning this phone after only three days. I may have gotten a defective unit but each time I charge it fully it only lasts 6-8 hrs. Woke up ...
Summary: I am returning this phone after only three days. I may have gotten a defective unit but each time I charge it fully it only lasts 6-8 hrs. Woke up three mornings in a row to a dead phone! If this wasn't a problem I may have kept the phone, but I have a company-assigned blackberry and the Reveal lacked a lot of the functionality I'm used to. So I am replacing it with a Curve. Note: AT&T was extremely helpful with the exchange. It was hassle free, no arguments, and no problem getting the Curve as a replacement (it actually cost me $5 less than the Reveal!!).
Great first messaging phone, lacking couple of features
by davidph on March 22, 2010
Pros: I'm new to texting, and not doing it much even then. I think I prefer the vertical slide design even though I have big thumbs. Clicks feel positive, as does the overall feel of the phone. Great picture and video quality.
Cons: Thought I had read great reviews on battery life, mine missed that. I can barely go 3 days, with hardly any texting AND cutting off at night, b4 I have to recharge. Miss voice dial function of prev phone. Confirming OK on some actions a pain.
Summary: Texting functions, what little I use, seem to be really great and easy to use. Although symbols keys seem to be missing apostrophe. Don't have a data plan, however ...
Summary: Texting functions, what little I use, seem to be really great and easy to use. Although symbols keys seem to be missing apostrophe. Don't have a data plan, however I needed to jump on the web once or twice and the browser seemed excellent. Overall, a very good quality phone, seems built well.
This is a great basic messaging phone.

Pros: Looks great, dual keypads, easy messaging, fast loading, sturdy construction, good call quality, bright display
Cons: A little heavy, the keyboard is a little cramped, no threaded text messages, screen too small for web browsing, camera quality not great
Summary: This phone is perfect for someone who wants a no-hassle, reliable device for voice and text messaging. It looks good, works great, and has a lot of really useful features....

The integrated email and IM features are very useful. The user can set up multiple accounts for both features. Added to the voice and texting, it's very easy to keep in touch using this phone.
The biggest selling point for this device, and the reason I picked it, is the dual keypads. The qwerty keyboard, while a little bit cramped, is easy to use. The number keypad is great - the buttons are easy to dial even without looking. The best part is that both keypads are active at the same time, so there is no need to switch back and forth between alpha and numeric functions while texting.
The phone has a lowkey professional look, so it might not be attractive for the younger crowd. Being an adult and not interested in attracting attention with my phone, the look is just right for me.
The construction is very solid, but the phone is a bit on the heavy/chunky side. This is easy to get used to for me, but might be a problem for others.
The camera does not take very good pictures, but I have a very nice digital camera that I use for taking quality pictures. It also has a very nice web browser, but the screen is a bit too small to browse comfortably. For this reason, the phone is more suitable as a voice/messaging phone than as a web device.
The bottom line: I've had the phone for a few weeks now and I love it. I reviewed many different phones before making my choice, and I'm very happy with the Pantech Reveal.
Terrible phone, returned after a couple days
by JCobra67 on February 2, 2010
Pros: Very little
Cons: I can't describe why this phone sucks in 250 characters so I won't even attempt. I'll explain a little bit below.
Summary: It freezes up, the predictive text on the number pad doesn't stay on predictive text. I have to turn it back to predictive text each time if I want ...
Summary: It freezes up, the predictive text on the number pad doesn't stay on predictive text. I have to turn it back to predictive text each time if I want to use the regular number pad instead of the keypad. Plus there was several other things but I'm not going to go into too much detail. It was a bad phone and on top of me not liking the actual product, it froze up five times the first day I had it which didn't help.
Brought Back After 2 Days

Pros: The phone has good intentions by having dial pad on the front plus slide to text.
It also has a smart design and size.
Cons: Terrible reception and poor tonal quality when speaking.

Summary: My wife liked the phone because it had a dial pad on the front with a large screen and a slide to text with large keypad but when she called me the phone reception was awful and her voice always sounded muffled over and over again.
Looks nice and great features but truly not a quality phone.
I do not recommend this phone

Summary: #cheap costly piece of garbage
#OS is terrible and useless,
#doesn't come with usb cable, the computer program for when you get a USB cable doesn't work, I tried it on three different computers, I sent a E-mail to their tech dept explaining the problem in detail including the OS of computer, they sent me an e-mail asking what OS was on the computer I used, I was getting a driver error, that I'm pretty sure you would only get with the correct OS
#It hangs for some mysterious reason when hanging up, I sent an e-mail to tech department about that and got another useless response many days later
#to play music you have to buy a special USB attachment, music not loud, battery runs down fast,
#This likely has more to do with ATT, but it came with ATT numbers programmed in, I tried to figure out how to get rid of them but lost interest after a bit, unless you know a lot of people who's name starts with letters before ATT those are the first things that come up when looking at your contacts.
broke after less than a month, took it back, got whole other phone.
There is no way to describe now terrible this phone is, I dropped a blackberry when riding my bike and all it did was crack the screen, this thing broke just walking around with it.
