The good: The Samsung Chrono has excellent call quality, large dial-pad buttons, and a smooth, attractive design.
The bad: Its basic screen resolution and camera don't do the Chrono any favors.
The bottom line: A fantastic price and clear call quality make the Samsung Chrono a top pick for U.S. Cellular customers who are looking for just the essentials.
Cons: The worst predictive text program I have ever encountered, exterior volume button makes it too easy to accidentally silence your phone, camera button is right where my thumb wants to be when taking calls.
Summary: The predictive text is so, so bad. Typing "I'll" gives you "I,lkl", "something" becomes "sometging", even the simplest words are non-existent while the program offers you complete gibberish ...
Summary: The predictive text is so, so bad. Typing "I'll" gives you "I,lkl", "something" becomes "sometging", even the simplest words are non-existent while the program offers you complete gibberish instead. Worst of all is when predictive text *seems* to be working, spelling out what you want, until the very last letter of the word is put in and the program changes every letter to something else. I literally just made this cnet account to complain about this atrocious feature.
Even casually handling the phone you are bound to accidentally hit the volume or camera buttons sooner or later. Hitting the camera button while talking makes an irritating break in the conversation, and I can't even say how many times I've accidentally silenced the thing and missed important calls and messages.
The best I can say about this phone is it was cheap cheap cheap, but sometimes it frustrates me enough I wonder if I should simply upgrade. Sometimes I wonder if this phone was purposely designed to make me feel like that.
Pros: Flip phone, info available on front screen, caller id and date time.
Cons: What's the use of having large numbers if they lay flat on the keypad? Hack is only way to update ringtones, download photos, etc Menu options cumbersome for a supposed "simple" flip phone
